For the final Summer Sunday, we look back at Week 8 of 2025!

In search of treasure, our Pirate campers spent the week putting clues together, taking them all around camp, ultimately finding their pirate b***y! Family Camp participated in camp classics like a hike to Buzzards Rocks and a Youse Craft Cabin session and our Day Campers joined in on the fun with games in the field like the parachute and canoeing on the lake! Our Diacanos camp this week continued to share their time and gifts with local non-profits! And our Ultimate Sports campers learned the basics of different sports including soccer, then laced up their sneakers and cleats for the annual KirchenCup match! A camp classic with orange slices for rejuvenation at halftime! To finish off the week, we had our final game of CTF, KirchenDunk, Friday Night Picnic and Worship for the summer!

On Sunday, May 17 we held the annual Summer Camp Kick-Off Worship and Picnic. This year was a special one. In addition to a joyful worship and a delicious BBQ dinner, this event served to recognize Mike Youse for his years of ministry in the Lutheran Camping Corporation and included a dedication of the Craft Cabin to the Youse family. Week 7 is up next as we look back to 2025 on this Summer Sunday!

Our many adventures this week included the Pioneers canoeing at the Lake, SUB Adventure going to the Cave and learning to Scuba Dive in the pool, and NightHawks making rockets! We also had our friends at the Beach that went crabbing and clamming and Diacanos helping their community through service projects. And our Treetoppers spent the week in the Treehouse and learned about the plants and trees around us!

This Summer Sunday, we look back at Week 6 of 2025!

This week we had many adventures both in and out of camp. KirchenQuest hiked part of the AT, canoed down the Susquehanna River, and biked their way back to Camp! Junior Classics enjoyed Mountain Pies at their sleepout. High Adventure went to the Cave and Chickies to hone their climbing skills and Junior Back Country Outpost crafted mallets while they spent a week in Fort Kirchenwald! Arts and Crafts campers harvested their own clay from the Stream to make creations in the Craft Cabin which Day Camp Plus used too during their daily craft sessions. And Diaconos volunteered in the local community at food banks and other nonprofits!

We look back at Week 5 of 2025 for this Summer Sunday!

10 Day continued their adventures into this week helping with dinner over the weekend and hiking part of the AT! Jr Quest went on their own adventures, hiking, biking, and canoeing and in camp, our Arts and Crafts campers learned how to quill along with other more in depth crafts. And our S.U.R.E campers built shelters from the nature around them which in an emergency could protect them from the elements. Mini Camp learned about damn building in the Stream and some wildlife at the Nature Playground.

The first annual Kirchenwald Crossing Disc Golf Tournament of Champions is in the books! Thanks to everyone who came out. We had 30 players. Congratulations to the winning team Jordan Smith and John Ditmore who shot a 61, narrowly edging out 2nd place team Timothy Moyer and Noel Grove (62).
