At exactly this time one week ago, we received the most crushing news any parent could ever imagine to hear. The most lonely nights and painful days have followed. Yesterday, our family laid the body of our 20 year old son, Evan, to rest. This morning just after sunrise I found myself back at his grave site just trying to "process the process". They say that today begins our new normal. Days filled with not just Sorrow and mourning, but deep hurt and confusion. Nothing feels right. Absolutely nothing. Everything is a reminder. Days feel like decades. Life can never be the same. I can feel the grace of Jesus increase as the despair tries to set in. His grace truly is Sufficient in times like this. The absolute ache of the soul affects every part of your mind, body and spirit. I'm just trying to function at this point. One day. One step. One cry. One prayer at a time. It's amazing what pain and grief can do to change you. I have so much to say and just can't bring myself to say it. But this one thing I knOw.....When things aren't good, God still is. less
