We are real people ... If Jesus is real, then that changes everything, and we want to act like it. We worship and serve a real Jesus: The only way there is hope for me or for this world is if God really came into this world, really took up our cause, really died our death, and really rose again. We don’t worship and serve Jesus because that is the Christian thing to do. We worship Jesus because He
is the best thing that ever happened to this world, and He is the best that ever happened to us. We live in a real world: We aren’t looking at the world or ourselves through rose colored glasses. The world is rough and we are a mess, but we aren’t despairing because we know Jesus is bigger. We are nothing more than messing people clinging to an awesome and perfect Savior. As a result, we aren’t looking for clean and tidy people (haven’t met any yet). Instead, we expect to find people with lots of problems who have made lots of mistakes, so that we can together worship and serve the one who forgives our mistakes and changes our lives.
