Mount Tabor Community Counseling

Mount Tabor Community Counseling A ministry of . We offer free community counseling for life's problems. WHAT IS BIBLICAL COUNSELING

We seek to promote Christ-centered personal change.

We believe that joy is found in Jesus Christ and that the Bible has the answer for man's struggles. WHY BIBLICAL COUNSELING

We understand that there are times in life where you just need a helping hand. In fact, many people are doing very well in some parts of their life while struggling with others. Now might be the time when you need someone to come alongside and encourage you from the Bible. O

ur process involves the Bible, God’s Word, and how it is related individually to a person or persons who are struggling under the weight of personal sin and/or the difficulties with suffering so that he or she might genuinely change in the inner person to be pleasing to God and embrace their God-given design and purpose. COMMON ISSUES WE DEAL WITH

Pastor Jeff Murray has helped people through a variety of issues. Some of the more common problems he routinely helps people through include:

-PTSD
-Depression
-Trauma
-Anxiety
-Struggling marriages
-Sexual sin, pornography, marital infidelity

Regardless of the issue you bring to us, we believe that God’s Word (the Bible) is sufficient to answer any of life’s problems and questions. WHAT TO EXPECT

Once you secure an appointment your first session is typically 1.5-2.5 hours long. PRIVACY AND CARE

Our counseling team will care for you and treat you with respect. Everything will be held in strict confidence except where, in the counselor’s judgment, there is a Biblical requirement to involve others (e.g. criminal activity). ENCOURAGEMENT TOWARDS CHRIST LIKENESS

Our counseling team will encourage you in your successes and exhort you to think and behave in a way that pleases Jesus Christ. WEEKLY HOMEWORK

We’ll assign you homework to take home between your weekly counseling sessions. The assignments are meant to encourage lasting change. GIVE US SOME TIME

Habits are not developed overnight, and new habits will take time to develop. In most cases, we ask individuals to commit to regular counseling appointments for a period of 3 to 4 months.

Athletes seek to set records; business people seek a higher position; laborers lust after higher pay; students seek better grades, more influence, and cooler friends. But there is a danger in that pursuit. The higher up we find ourselves in terms of power, influence, and wealth, the more vulnerable we are to pride, and the more prone we are to be blind to our spiritual needs and deficiencies. The sly encroachment of pride will render us useless to God and others. Pride manifests itself in many subtle and lethal ways. Are you a proud person or a humble person?

Remember, James, says, "'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.'” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:6-7).

If you struggle with pride, we'd love to show you from God's Word how you can defeat this ugly monster in a way that pleases Him and others. Give us a call at 317 769 6777.
