Freedom Church of the Nazarene

Freedom Church of the Nazarene When you visit, you'll experience a friendly welcome and an opportunity to participate as much or as little as you'd like. We hope to see you soon!

We're not real formal, so dress comfortably. You many see a suit or two with a tie, but you'll fit right in wearing a pair of jeans. The Church of the Nazarene has been in Lebanon since the 1950s. Originally located in a storefront downtown, we now have a beautiful facility next to Atchley Park on Route 5 which includes a large sanctuary, Sunday school classrooms, a fellowship hall and large gym.

We've just added a large pavilion for cook outs and picnics on the grounds! Our church has been through some stuff. Like many churches which include humans, there have been disagreements over the years, some leading to a "parting of ways" leading to today's small congregation. However, this core of believers represent a spiritually healthy and growing group who are eager to allow God to work in their lives, the life of the church and the lives of others. We are in the process of looking for a new pastor, our previous one having just followed God's leading into other ministries. While we miss him and his whole family, we're looking forward to what God has in store for us in the next chapter of the life of our church. If you've been considering finding a church to make your own, this would be a great time to try us out as we are an old church making a new start. It's your opportunity to be a part of something great and see what God is going to do! Even though we're a small church, we still have much to offer. We don't have many programs (being small) but offer a friendly welcome, genuine fellowship and a meaningful worship experience in an inter-generational setting. Our worship services include traditional hymns and choruses (accompanied by a multi-piece worship ensemble), prayer, testimonies and a message from the Bible.

Scriptures:

Isaiah 43:1-3
But now, this is what the Lord says - he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: "Do not fear, for I have redeemedc you, I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when you pass through the rivers, the will not sweep over you. When you walk threough the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior: I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.

Deuteronomy 3:21-1
At that time I commanded Joshua: "You have seen with your own eyes all that the Lord your God has done to those kings. The Lord will do the swame to all the kingdoms over there where you are going.
Do not b e afraid of them, the Lord your God himself will fight for you."
At the time I pleaded with the Lord: "Sovereign Lord, you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works you do?

Psalm 24:1-7
The earth is the Lord's, and everthinhg in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
Who may ascend the mountain on the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.
They will receive belssing from the Loird and vindication from God their Savior.
Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seeks your face, God of Jacob.
Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory can come in.

Joshua a:1-9
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' aide: "Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them-to the Israelites.
I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.
Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates - all the Hittite country - to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.
No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
"Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful whereever you go.
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be carefuyl to do everything written in int. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discourages, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
