Spring is coming, and with it, mowing season! As the weather warms up, we want to remind everyone of our policies regarding decorations.
Starting March 1st , our grounds crew will begin removing items and disposing of them. If you have decorations in the cemetery that you wish to keep, please pick them up by Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
As we approach the mowing season, please remember a few basic rules:
Please do not leave things on the gravesites or headstone, as they pose a risk to our mowers and as such will need to be removed. Decorations left in a cemetery-approved vase will not be removed and will be left in place for the season. Thus, we recommend that you place decorations in a vase that is approved by the cemetery.
Don't place anything on a grave that has sentimental value or that will cause distress if it is removed, for example, trinkets, lights, pictures or other such objects. Since the cemetery is so large, it is difficult to prevent theft, so we highly suggest that nothing of high personal or monetary value is left on a grave.
Please keep in mind that our cemetery is home to a lot of wildlife and they love to eat fresh flowers! You can place flowers anytime you wish, just please don't plant anything! It's best to always ask us if you are unsure. Unauthorized plantings will be removed and disposed of.
No fences, glass items, rocks or shepherds' hooks are permitted.
