It was known initially as old campground Church because of outdoor camp meetings held at the site. In 1836 a charter was drawn up and the local church site was named Bethany
In 1857, Leasburg Church was built at its present site, and services were moved from Bethany to Leasburg. The local Masonic order, needing a meeting site, helped church leaders to build a large two-story building, with the Mas

ons using the second floor and the sanctuary the first. A century later, in 1950, a new church building replaced the old one. The current sanctuary and educational wing were dedicated on May 17,1953. A steeple with chimes was added in 1963 and a fellowship hall was added in 1967.

Today Friday, April 3 (Good Friday), we will have the Stations of the Cross on the road leading to Leasburg Cemetary. Each station will highlight one of the last 14 events of Christ's life from being condemened to death to his burial in the tomb and will include Scripture, reflection and prayer. The first station (behind the fellowship hall) will have a plastic container with copies of the stations in kid-friendly language for our younger believers. The Stations of the Cross will be available from sunrise to sunset for quiet, move-at-your-own-pace reflection.
Please come to think about and pray through the sufferings and sacrifices Christ made for us on Good Friday.

From our Thanksgiving table to yours, have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
