What if looking back could help us move forward?
This summer, every Wednesday at noon starting on July 1, we’re reading Calling on Fire by Ashley Boggan and Chris Heckert—a hopeful and practical exploration of Methodist history, discipleship, justice, and renewal for today’s church.

In addition to a Grace Space and children’s Bibles in the pews, the MMT team will be creating a sensory room for all families to use during worship services!

The Foundations of Faith room will be transformed into a soothing, kid-friendly, and participatory environment designed to help children and caregivers feel comfortable, engaged, and connected throughout the service. This room will remain functional so it can still be used for adult Sunday school and meetings.

Planned additions include a new TV to livestream worship, a collection of sensory toys and calming activities, flexible seating, and a cozy tent nook where children can reset and recharge as needed.

This welcoming space is intended to support a variety of sensory needs and family experiences while helping every child feel that they belong in worship and in our church community.

As part of the Making Meaning Together project, a portion of our seed funding has been used to purchase new children’s Bibles for the pews. These selections were thoughtfully chosen by our Children’s Ministry Team to help nurture faith, curiosity, and engagement for our youngest worshipers.

The following titles have been added:
• The Peace Table: A Storybook Bible
• God’s Big Picture Bible Storybook
• Spark Bible (NRSV)
• Children of God Storybook Bible
• Growing in God’s Love: A Story Bible
• Celebrate Wonder Bible Storybook

We invite you to explore these wonderful resources—some are already available in the pews and ready to be enjoyed by children and families during worship!

This Summer we’re going BACK TO BIBLE SCHOOL.

From talking donkeys and giant floods to lions’ dens, walking on water, and some stories we definitely didn’t hear much about as kids… we’re revisiting the Bible’s most familiar stories with fresh eyes.

Some weeks will be fun.
Some weeks will be strange.
Some weeks might challenge what we thought we knew.
But every week, we’ll discover that these stories still have something to say about courage, grace, belonging, and faith today.
