WEEK 12: Faith for the Family— Stepping Out of the Thicket
By Pastor Karl Causey
Have you ever watched an innocent lamb wander off the cleared path and accidentally become entangled in a thicket of dense briers? The lamb didn’t enter the thorns out of malice; it simply didn’t know any better. Once trapped, every movement it makes to free itself only causes the thistles to dig deeper into its wool, leaving it tired, frightened, and stuck.
Many well-meaning, sincere Christians find themselves in this exact emotional position today. They are trapped in thickets of religious confusion, cyclic family division, and deceitful environments that quietly drain their spiritual strength. They want to serve the Lord, but the heavy atmosphere around them keeps them completely tangled in unrest.
The solution is not to fight the thorns in your own strength, but to listen for the specific call of the Shepherd. Jesus stated in Luke 15:4 that He will leave the ninety-nine and go into the wilderness after the one that is lost “until he find it.”
If you feel tangled in an environment that thrives on keeping people confused or isolated, realize that you do not have to stay captive to that pattern. The Lord is releasing a clear sound of deliverance across our county. Look toward the voice that offers long-suffering love, uncompromised biblical truth, and absolute safety. Step out of the thicket today and walk back onto the straight, narrow path of freedom.
A Prayer for Deliverance:
Lord Jesus, reach into the briars and thistles that have entangled the minds of Your children. Extricate the sincere, heal their wounds, and guide their feet onto the clear, open path of Your perfect liberty. Amen.
