3. Colossians 1:18 "And He is the head o

f the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy."

4. The Church is a Church with definite terms of admission

Hearing the gospel - Acts 2:37 "When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" and Romans 10:17 "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." Believing in Jesus Christ - Acts 2:41 "Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day." and Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. "
Repenting of all sin - Acts 2:38 ""Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."" and Acts 17:30 "In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent." Confession of faith - Acts 8:37 "Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." and Romans 10:10 "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Baptism (immersion) for the remission of sins - Acts 2:38 ""Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."" and Acts 8:38-39 " And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eu**ch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eu**ch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing."
5. The Church is marked by distinctive worship. Apostles' Doctrine - Acts 2:42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Fellowship (sharing of gifts) - Acts 2:44-45 "All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need." Breaking of bread (Lord's supper) - Acts 2:46 "46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts." Prayers - Acts 2:42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Praise - Ephesians 5:18-19 "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord."

Yesterday was a big day for our mission team in Puerto Peñasco!

After several days of hard work, we finished the final details on the house we were building and had the privilege of handing the keys to the homeowners. What an incredible moment to see a family receive a safe place to call home.

We also had the opportunity to worship with a local church, visit one of 1Mission’s community gardens, and learn more about the ongoing ministry taking place in this community.

After a busy week, the team enjoyed a little time at the beach before packing up for the journey home.

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support throughout this trip. Please continue to pray for safe travels as we head back to the United States today.

Psalm 33:20-22 says, "We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you."

Please join us on Thursday, May 7 at noon at Headline Event Space in downtown Le Mars as we gather to worship and pray for our law enforcement and military within our community, state, and nation. Lunch from Habitué Coffeehouse & Bakery starts at 11:30 with the program starting at noon.
