Pastor Paul’s Newsletter - March 30, 2025
My Best Friend, The Holy Ghost
Before Jesus left this planet, He stressed that He would not
leave the believers in Him comfortless. He said that He would
send the Holy Spirit, and He would be their Helper forever.
After all these years that I have been pastor, I think that the
greatest attack on the church by the devil is to blind believers
of the Holy Spirit’s presence. When a person receives Jesus
as their Savior and Lord, they are promised the gift of the Holy
Spirit Who will help the believers to accomplish all that Father
God wants to accomplish through them. I’ve talked to so
many people that are trying to live the Christian life without
the Holy Spirit’s help. The biggest reason that they don’t
receive His help is because they don’t know that He is in
them. Because He is a Spirit, we can’t see Him; so we don’t
acknowledge His presence. There are three R’s that we, as
believers, need to do concerning the Holy Spirit.
1. Recognize Him
2. Reverence Him
3. Respond to Him
When we practice these things, the Holy Spirit will be able to
work through us to do what God wants us to do.
Acts 2:36-39 KJV Therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, Whom ye
have crucified, both Lord and Christ. [37] Now when they
heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto
Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what
shall we do? [38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy
Ghost. [39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children,
and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God
shall call.
John 14:15-18 KJV If ye love Me, keep My commandments.
[16] And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another
Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; [17] Even the
Spirit of Truth; Whom the world cannot receive, because it
seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He
dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. [18] I will not leave you
comfortless: I will come to you.
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, Whom I will
send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, which
proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of Me:
16:12-15 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye
cannot bear them now. [13] Howbeit when He, the Spirit of
Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not
speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He
speak: and He will shew you things to come. [14] He shall
glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto
you. [15] All things that the Father hath are Mine: therefore
said I, that He shall take of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Acts 1:4-5,8 KJV And, being assembled together with them,
commanded them that they should not depart from
Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith
He, ye have heard of Me. [5] For John truly baptized with
water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many
days hence.
[8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is
come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in
Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the
uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 2:1-4 KJV And when the day of Pentecost was fully
come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And
suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
[3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of
fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled
with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues,
as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Luke 4:1,16-21 KJV And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost
returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the
wilderness,
[16] And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought
up: and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on
the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. [17] And there was
delivered unto Him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when
He had opened the book, He found the place where it was
written, [18] The Spirit of the Lord is upon He, because He
hath anointed He to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath
sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to
the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at
liberty them that are bruised, [19] To preach the acceptable
year of the Lord. [20] And He closed the book, and He gave it
again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them
that were in the synagogue were fastened on Him. [21] And
He began to say unto them, This day is this Scripture fulfilled
in your ears.
In all these verses in the Bible we hear God talking about the
Holy Spirit manifesting God’s desires. He is the same today.
He will do through us what He did in Bible days; but we must
Recognize Him, Reverence Him, and Respond to Him.
He is always wanting to help us achieve the desires of the
Father and Jesus.
Love you,
Pastor Paul
