One Life Church

One Life Church REFRESHING People - Purpose - Promise & Potential by REACHING People Where They Are - How They Are - No Matter Who They Are Pastor Kennard M.

ORIGIN - Northeast Community Church began with an act of obedience by Pastor Gerald McPhail, the first Pastor. Initially, a bible study was held in his home. Eventually, the first public worship service was held in March of 1994. Revival - As attendance increased to overflow, God provided a new church home at 1290 Harbins Road. The first public worship service in this new location, held in March o

f 1999, had seventy-seven people in attendance. Believing that 1290 Harbins was only a temporary location, Northeast Community Church purchased 6 acres of land in 2000 to build its own sanctuary. God had another plan; He provided above and beyond what Northeast could ask or think. TRANSITION - In 2011, Pastor McPhail reached out to Pastor Tyrone Barnette, Peace Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia, for advice and recommendations. On Thanksgiving Eve, the leadership team voted unanimously to call Dr. Kenneth Ellis as the second pastor of Northeast Community Church. On December 18, 2011, Pastor McPhail passed the staff (literally) to Dr. Ellis. Dr. Ellis preached his first sermon as pastor on January 1, 2012. In 2017, Dr. Kenneth Ellis was called to a different ministry, so the search began to identify the next pastor for Northeast community church. SHIFT - After an exhaustive search begun in the fall of 2017, with much fasting and prayer, the third pastor as identified for Northeast Community Church. Weever preached his first sermon as pastor Sunday May 6, 2018. He is a spirit-filled man of God and is definitely the right person, in the right place for such a time of this. The second half of 2018 and the first half of 2019 were spent reviewing and evaluating the ministry’s focus, leadership development training and strategic planning. God opened a door for us, in a shared space partnership with White Oak Baptist Church, in Lilburn, Georgia; and we began the process to rebrand the image and focus of the church. Through the vision of Pastor Weever, in June 2018, we embarked on the EVERTHING CHANGES IN 120 DAYS campaign. The ministry location changed from Lawrenceville to Lilburn, service time changed from 10:00 A.M. to 8:30 A.M., and on Sunday September 15, 2019, a Grand Opening Celebration was held under the official new name One Life Church with the mission to REFRESH PEOPLE – PURPOSE – PROMISE & POTENTIAL by REACHING PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE – HOW THEY ARE NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE. Under Pastor Weever’s leadership, a sponsorship lunch program and book mobile partnership was instituted at two local elementary schools, Bible Study small groups expanded from two locations to five locations, and Breakfast Cafe@1352 was in full swing. It appears that God had other plans as the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a resounding stop in the first quarter of 2020 and continued late into 2020. One Life Church had to adapt a new way of being the church. We very quickly had to manage being completely virtual while adapting to a new norm. But we kept the faith, we kept running the race, we continued to be light in a dark world. Little did we know that the One Life story was just beginning. Through the generosity of a local church, Greystone Church in Loganville, GA; we were able to immediately create a virtual presence. Amid the pandemic the church never missed Sunday Services, never skipped a beat. In 2021, in the midst of the COVID-10 Pandemic, the Lord again showed HIMSELF Strong & Mighty. God opened an opportunity for One Life Church to acquire an independent property in the city of Lawrenceville, one of the fastest growing areas of Gwinnett County. Again, we had to adjust and transition with the Lord’s leading. On Sunday May 2, 2021, the official day of Pastor Weever’s 3rd Year Anniversary, One Life Church held its’ 1st service in the new location at 787 Paden Drive – Lawrenceville, Georgia 30044. THIS IS THE LORD’S DOING & IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR SIGHT. It has not yet appeared what we shall be, BUT THE LORD IS NOT THROUGH WITH US YET. We are proud to be ONE LIFE CHURCH. There is an OPEN INVITATION FOR ANY AND EVERONE TO COME AND DO LIFE WITH US.

Have you ever noticed that everything feels worse when you're exhausted? That's because low batteries distort perspective.

Elijah thought he was alone, but he was simply depleted. Never make major decisions from a depleted place. Amen? 🔥

KEY POINTS

1. Whatever Feeds You, Determines What Fuels You.

• Jesus said man shouldn’t live by bread alone.
• Bread is more than what you eat.
• Bread is what you can see, sense, or smell that feeds you emotionally, psychologically, and socially.
• Every man and woman is feeding himself or herself something.
• Some of us are feeding ourselves fear, anger, bitterness, regrets over what should’ve could’ve or would’ve been, social media, the opinions of other people, or comparisons (comparing ourselves to other people).
• What are you feeding yourself?
• Bread alone (food, promotions, titles, positions, relationships, money, or success) will never satisfy you.
• God’s word is our bread (daily spiritual nourishment) that will help us to live and survive.

2. Every Comeback Requires Reconnection

• It is difficult to be an old or young man of color these days because they are carrying layered loads of pressure.
• They are carrying the pressure to succeed, provide, protect, perform, to survive life, to stay strong, or to not let anyone know that they are struggling.
• They are suffering in silence and believe that asking for help is a sign of weakness.
• They are not operating at full capacity since they are drained physically, spiritually, and or emotionally.
• Everyone will have a weak or low point in life. The enemy will attack us when we are vulnerable.
• We must have a POWER SOURCE that is greater than ourselves.
• We can’t win against the enemy without being reconnected to God who is our POWER BANK.
• God never intended for us to live disconnected from him.

You must become a POWER PACT or POWER BANK for your family, friends, and community. God is with you wherever you go and in whatever you do. YOU ARE THE CHURCH!!!

Men, before this weekend gets busy, we want to remind you of something important: what you do matters. 💚

The way you lead your family matters. The way you keep showing up matters. The sacrifices you make, the long hours you work, the prayers you pray, and the strength you carry even when you’re exhausted all matter more than you probably realize.

Some of you are carrying pressure quietly. Trying to provide. Trying to lead well. Trying to stay strong for everyone around you while also fighting your own battles internally. But hear this clearly: you do not have to be perfect to make a powerful impact.

Your children may not remember every conversation, but they will remember your presence. They will remember the love, consistency, wisdom, and protection you gave them through every season of life. 🙏🏾

At One Life Church, we are praying for every father, father figure, mentor, and young man stepping into leadership. We are praying that God gives you wisdom, peace, strength, and clarity for every season ahead.

Men, what has been one of the most meaningful parts of your journey so far? Share it in the comments below!

What if your greatest victory is also the reason you're exhausted? People celebrate the accomplishment, but they rarely see the cost. The promotion, the influence, and the success may look good on the outside, but they often require more than anyone realizes.

Even Elijah found himself in a cave after calling down fire from heaven. Don't ignore your soul just because you're winning. 🙏🏾

What if the freedom you have been praying for has already been made available through Jesus? So many people are walking around carrying shame, guilt, fear, bitterness, addiction, and pain like chains they can never break. But the blood of Jesus did more than just forgive your past. It made freedom possible. 💙

Because of Jesus, you do not have to stay trapped in who you used to be. You do not have to live bound by your mistakes, your struggles, or the labels people placed on your life. The blood still has power to heal, restore, redeem, and break every chain the enemy tried to keep on you. 🙌🏾

You are not too far gone. You are not forgotten. You are not disqualified. Jesus already made a way for you to walk in freedom and boldly come before God with grace and confidence! Do not live like a prisoner when Jesus already made you FREE! 🔥

What does God say about YOU? Listen to this!

The enemy spends all day reminding you of what you're not, but God says something different!

You are chosen.
You are loved.
You are forgiven.
You are redeemed.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Stop seeing yourself through the lens of your insecurities. Start seeing yourself through the truth of God's Word. Save this for when you need a reminder of who you are in God! 💙
