Today is International Day of Charity and we have a most charitable place right here in Lawrenceburg!
The Southern Hive offers local people who make their own crafts a place to sell their goods. There are so many talented people here who don’t have time or money to rent a space and this model helps all of us. On Saturday’s the vendors who sell their can be found at the Lawrenceburg Farmers Market so be sure to see the market and The Southern Hive today as they are very near to each other. They also have food and drinks as they are located in the Make It Sweet location. See the photos from my last visit below. Join the hive and make some buzz 🐝 around town by sharing my post and visiting their page here - https://www.facebook.com/share/1JwwGWvfLb/?mibextid=wwXIfr

The Loretto Farmers Market is every Friday at 4:30-7pm and they have strict rules on how you must grow or make the products yourself. So you know everyone who comes to this producer market can tell you all about how they make things. I like the coffee, quail eggs, and sauces from Corbett Farms. There is always a food truck or two for times you need to snack and figure out what you want. Go by the Weathers Park in Loretto Tennessee today and see what they have. Mill Creek Cattle Farms are often set up for you who are watching my series on where to buy local meats. Below are a few past markets to show an example of the things they had on my visit.

Taylor Family Farm is another great place to buy meats. All of their meats come from around their farm so they know exactly where they came from. They have more for sale on their www.taylorfamilyfarmtn.com website where they can tell you more about their story and availability. Drive just past Top Gun Arms on Campbellsville Pike and you will get to 301 Dave Risner road just before you get to Flowers Creamery. Those who love their milk untouched, meats gmo free, and animals fed on the pasture will like this place. They also own Thrive Wellness in Ethridge if you favor a more natural solution to health. See the photos of what was there during my trip and their page here - https://www.facebook.com/taylorfamilyfarmtn - and go by one day!

So much is said about beef today while Holiday Acres Farm is raising their own sheep! You can buy cuts of their Icelandic lamb this Saturday at their store that is opening up for the year. If you are unfamiliar with this place then see the photos below. They open on the weekends during October and for private parties during the fall and have a big play area. Kids love this place and they have educational areas that teach kids about the farm and how it works. See their page here to get the address, phone, email, and website to Holiday Acres Farm on Campbellsville Pike in Ethridge. https://www.facebook.com/HolidayAcresFarmTN and share this post with those who have kids or love fall inspired places to visit. This post is in a series I am doing on where to buy meats so be sure to go by September 5th and inquire about their lamb.

At Flowers Creamery they obviously have cheese and milk but did you know they also have meats and eggs? Yes! Inside their store they have a lot of things you may not have thought of. Be sure to also get their ice cream as it's still hot out. See their page here - https://www.facebook.com/flowerscreamery - for address, phone, hours, and more so you can see when their restock schedule is because they do stock many of our stores with milk and cheese so you don't have to drive way out Campbellsville Pike unless you live out that way. When you do visit and see their cows, these are the same cows they milk for products they make on site so nothing is coming in from outside our area. Even the cows food is grown right here on their farm. During the summer their is a tour so you can learn how they make things!

Do any of you do “Meat out Mondays”? I have been posting about the rise in meat prices so a lot of people are just going without meat! Some are naturally vegetarian but the people I’m talking about are going rogue and refusing to pay the high prices! I’m trying it out and grilling vegetables so I can afford meats I like when my budget can allow for them. My will power is quite low but I believe I can find away! The Blackstone open fire grill is fun to use and does wonders on veggies.

So who cuts firewood 🪵 for us who have smokers? Be sure to tag them in the comments! I need some hickory, cherry, and pecan wood. Maybe some oak and maple 🍁 if I can find any. I do like my pellet grills but the offset just makes better tasting food. So do you cook with the real wood splits? I will try to add some places below as well.

The Lawrenceburg Farmers Market is each Saturday morning from 9-1pm. There is always neat vendors here and homemade goods. I like how I can park in one place and visit many places by just walking around. See their page here as they end around mid September. https://www.facebook.com/lbtnfarmerssmarket
