This week we start a new step in the life of Relevate... We have made the decision to meet in homes rather than rented buildings. Much thought and prayer has gone into this decision and believe God is guiding it.

Through meeting in homes we can grow into being..

1. More disciples, less attenders. Our desire is for growth in our walk with Christ in order to model Christ to those around us. The community feels the desire to act and not sit.

2. More organic, less institutional. The church is always understood as the people, as the Bible says... (family, body, branches, sheep, etc.) It has never been three songs, a talk and another song.

3. More participatory worship, less passivity. Everyone has an active role in the gathering. Less spectator worship and more active engagement.

4. More community, less acquaintances. Genuine community is the desired goal. The more we can genuinely love each other the better we are at loving those around us.

This Sunday we are meeting at Lawrence Arts Center at 10 AM to celebrate the HOPE that we find in this season. Coffee is on at 10 and the celebration starts at 10:10 AM. Christmas songs, a story of HOPE and very welcoming faces all in one hour! Come join me and my friends as we celebrate the one who gives us HOPE.

We start a new series tomorrow on the book of Ruth and the search for HOPE. When all things go wrong it's the HOPE of a relationship that can change everything. Starts tomorrow at 10 AM Lawrence Arts Center.

Last Sunday we started talking about biblical justice. The biblical understanding of justice is standing up for what is right. Doing what is right. It means seeking justice in human society.

There are four facets of justice and the first one is RADICAL GENEROSITY.

Out of the love of God and love of neighbor and God’s view of justice, “The righteous are willing to disadvantage themselves to advantage the community!”

What are some ways we can "disadvantage ourselves" for the advantage of the community? Love to hear your thoughts...

IMPORTANT NOTICE! We will not be meeting tomorrow, July 3, at Trivedi for lunch because there are many out of town for holiday or needing to isolate.
