Scouts from Troop 447- & Troop 1447, completed the first weekend of National Youth Leadership Training this past weekend at Camp Bowers.
National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth with leadership skills and experience that they can apply within their troops and in other situations requiring leadership of self and others.

NYLT is a six-day course that emphasizes hands-on learning in a fun, engaging environment. Through a blend of activities, presentations, challenges, discussions, and games, participants will develop confidence and leadership abilities while working together as a team.

The course content is designed to build leadership concepts progressively, using practical exercises to reinforce learning. Participants embark on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership, which brings the leadership lessons to life as they apply their skills throughout the course.

As always if you know someone that would benefit from Scouting, check out BeAScout.org, or email JoinScoutingAmerica @ gmail . com

Last night at the Klahican Lodge (Order of the Arrow) annual banquet, two members of our district were selected to receive the OA Vigil Honor.
This honor is reserved for those Scouts and Scouters that go far beyond expectations. They have unselfishly given exceptional service to the lodge, council, and scouting outside their normal duties. What many may not realize is this honor is not bestowed just for those things they have already done, but also expectations of their future contributions; it's about the dedication they continue to demonstrate going forward. Only 2% of a lodge may be nominated each year.

Pictured below are this years Vigil selection. From Lumber River district (Japeechen Chapter, of our lodge):
* Andrew Longinett ( Associate Crew Advisor, Crew 4447 ) far left.
* Roger Ladd ( Scotmaster 447 ) third from the left.

Thank you for all you do for Scouting; well deserved!

Scouts from Troop 447 & Troop 1447 participated in Scout Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
During the service, Scouts discussed their service work from the day before (picking up roughly 102 pounds of litter along Blues Farm Rd), as well as other other aspects of the service (please see the church bulletin (trinitypreslbg.com).

Additionally 447 Scoutmaster Roger Ladd, gave everyone a rundown of the trips, events, and staffing both troops completed in the last year, as well as our upcoming events and summer camp.

If you are able to support the Scouts summer "Campership" to help differ or cover the cost of $450.00 per scout for summer camp, please reach out to the church, checks can be made payable to Troop 447 or Troop 1447.

Additionally the church was presented with all four units (Pack 447, Troop 447, Troop 1447, Crew 4447) re-charter, authorizing the continuation of the Scouting program at Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Do you know a youth that would benefit from all Scouting has to offer; if so see the link and email addresses below.

This was a great weekend for Troop 1447, as another one of our young ladies was pinned with her Eagle Scout medal.

Congratulations to MacKenzie, the Scouts and Scouters in your unit are very proud of you!

The vision of the Scouting America programs is to prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.

The journey to Eagle Scout just starts with a visit.

You do not have to be a member of the church to be in Scouting.
Cub Scouts (K-5th grade boys & girls)
Troop 1447 (girls)
Troop 447 (boys)
Venturing Crew 4447 (co-ed 14-20, high adventure)

Many of our Scouts are involved in band, sports and other extracurricular activities; Scouting doesn't have to be an either or program for the youth in our Community.

We have multiple Eagle Scout leaders registered in all of the above units to help guide our youth along their path to becoming tomorrows leaders.

Pass the word.

Congratulations to our Eagle Scout!
