Photoshop of the day - He loved you at your worst.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

This image was inspired from recent Sunday School lesson I taught about God's presence (from Psalm 139:7-12). David writes in that psalm that there is no where he could flee from the presence of God, whether it be in the depths of the sea, in sheol, or in total darkness. No matter where you find yourself, God is ever present.

We can try to run away from His presence, like Jonah running to Tarshish, or Adam hiding in garden. Or maybe we have our own ways of running from God today, like getting caught up in worldly distractions, or focusing our energy on a successful career, or even hiding ourselves in ministry work. But we must come to the realization, just as David did, that there is no where we can run that God isn't already there.

When we come to that realization, we immediately land on two distinct conclusions: #1 God is sovereign. Our lives and our actions are under His authority. We cannot run to any place that we are not accountable to Him. But #2 is that God is near. Even when we run "far away", we will never be so far away that we cannot turn to Him. We can lay those distractions down, recognize that we messed up, and collapse into His arms. Even at our worst moments, He is right there.

The best part is, He loves you at your worst. Just as the father of the prodigal son ran to hug his son, Christ will embrace you as well. As the Bible says, He loved you while you were still a sinner.

And ultimately, Jesus loved us so much that He became our sin on the cross, so that we could have eternal life. In a sense, He loved us so much that He embraced the fiery pain of our sin. That was the inspiration for the image, and I hope that it is an encouragement to wherever you find yourself in your walk today!

God has blessed Faith Hope & Love Ministries with 3 years! It a short time he has went above and beyond! We can wait to see what’s in store next!!! These last three days of our Homecoming celebration was absolutely wonderful! God showed up and showed out all 3days! We would like to thank everyone who celebrated with us!
