for those that don't know. tracy gave birth saturday to a healthy baby girl. we did not know if it was going to be a boy or a girl. we waited to find out.
many indicated to us that they felt it was a girl and we never really considered as seriously that we may have a boy as seriously as we felt that we would be having a daughter. even the name came to us strong. a name that felt set in stone long before saturday.
monday we were shaken to our core as we rushed to the emergency room with willow's cries slowly fading out as she slipped into shock from the distress. tracy had to keep her from slipping away as we sped to our destination. as the evening slowly ticked along, possibilities were eliminated, she began to stabilize enough for us to transfer her to jxn. at first it was going to be by helicopter, but ended up by OTR.
we learned that she has a congenital heart defect that shows up unannounced on the 3rd day after birth that must be resolved with open heart surgery, which is tentatively scheduled for monday to allow her monitored levels to optimize.
we are so grateful for your concerns and prayers and request that you join us in prayer all day monday, not only for that day, but for the lengthy recovery period that comes with such an intrusive procedure. that the staff, nurses, physicians hands be guided and skilled. where 2 or 3 agree... let's make it more than 2 or 3. take a minute and set an alarm on your phone (if any of you are like me) to lift up her name before God. i believe he knows who she is and is aware as the name we were given is very appropriate.
thank you.
willow eliana
willow... "her name means slender and graceful. the willow's roots seek out a sure source of water, and its branches are always bowed down in worship of its Creator. it is called the weeping willow because of its humble appearance. it is known for its quick growth and ability to multiply. Tracy and Greg have chosen a wonderful name for their baby girl. Praying for y'all today.". (from sis. dianne mclaurin)
..and she shall be like a tree planted by the river; her leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever she doeth shall prosper. psalm 1:3
