Our Values:

To Grow Intentionally
Acts 2.46-47
“They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.”

To Care Like a Family
Ephesians 2.18-19
“Now all of us, both Jews a

nd Gentiles, may come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us. So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God's holy people. You are members of God's family.”

To Serve Globally
Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-20
"I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." To Deepen our Life of Worship
Romans 12.1
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask?”

To Leave a Godly Legacy
2 Timothy 2.2
“You have heard me teach many things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Teach these great truths to trustworthy people who are able to pass them on to others.”

Today we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it’s a sacred reminder that freedom is never free. We honor the sacrifice, courage, and legacy of those who served our nation with unwavering devotion.

To every family carrying the weight of loss, we remember with you.
To every service member and veteran, we thank you.
And above all, we pray God’s peace and blessing over our country.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Happy Memorial Day from Mt. Vernon Church ❤️🤍

Prayer remains one of the most powerful yet underutilized tools available to believers today. While many of us feel comfortable discussing prayer or reading about it, actually practicing consistent prayer often feels intimidating or inadequate. However, when we examine why Jesus Himself needed to spend time in prayer, we begin to understand its true significance. The disciples, observing Jesus pray, recognized that something profound was happening and requested that He teach them this vital spiritual discipline.

The challenge we face is recognizing what we often trust in instead of God. Like the Israelites who worshiped idols made from trees and decorated with gold, we sometimes place our faith in things we've created or systems we've established rather than calling upon the living God. Yet God issues a clear invitation in Scripture: Call upon Me and I will answer you, showing you great and mighty things you do not know. This is God's challenge for us to experiment with Him through prayer.

While we may not fully comprehend how God's sovereignty works alongside our prayers, Scripture provides numerous examples of God responding to the prayers of His people - from Moses interceding for Israel to Hezekiah's life being extended through prayer. Prayer doesn't just move God; it transforms us, changing our perspective on who God is, our purpose in life, and our daily dependence on Him. Some battles can only be won through persistent prayer, and there's incredible power available to us if we would commit to genuine, consistent communication with our heavenly Father.

What a night at the 2026 MVC Fish Fry & Dessert Auction!

Because of your generosity, our precious kids are getting the opportunity to encounter Jesus at camp, build lifelong faith, and create memories that point them closer to Him.

This was about more than fish plates and sweet desserts. It was about investing in the next generation and advancing the Kingdom of God one child at a time.

Come hungry and come ready to support a great cause.

Join us at Mt. Vernon Church TONIGHT on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 5:30 PM for our Dessert Auction & Fish Fry fundraiser as we raise money to help send our children to church camp this summer.

It’s going to be a great evening of food, fellowship, fun, and giving back. Every dessert purchased and every plate enjoyed helps invest in the lives of our children and gives them the opportunity to experience a summer that can strengthen their faith and create lasting memories.

We would love for you to come be a part of it and help us make a difference in the lives of our kids. Thank you for supporting the next generation. 💙

In a world full of uncertainty, there's peace in surrendering all to our Savior. This moment of worship reminds us that true freedom comes when we let Jesus take control. ✨
