Today we honor the people who get up, show up, work hard, serve others, build things, fix things, care for people, keep things moving, and do the countless jobsโ€”seen and unseenโ€”that make a difference every single day.

Scripture reminds us:
๐Ÿ“– โ€œWhatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.โ€ โ€” Colossians 3:23

Whether your work happens behind a desk, behind handlebars, behind a steering wheel, on a jobsite, in a classroom, in a hospital, at home, or in service to someone elseโ€”๐—ฌ๐—ข๐—จ๐—ฅ ๐—ช๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—ž ๐— ๐—”๐—ง๐—ง๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—ฆ.

โ€œRejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.โ€
Romans 12:15 NIV

When something difficult happens, people often show up.

They call. They text. They pray. They bring food. They ask what they can do. And those things matter.

But eventually, life moves forward for everyone else.

The funeral ends. The diagnosis isn't new anymore. The crisis passes. The difficult season stops being something people ask about.

But for the person living it, the hard part may not be over.

Sometimes the loneliest part comes laterโ€”when everyone else assumes things are better.

That's when we have an opportunity to love differently.

Remember the person whose loss happened months ago. Check on the friend who has been quietly walking through something difficult. Ask again about the struggle they mentioned weeks ago. Remember the date that's going to be hard for them.

You don't need the perfect words. You don't have to solve the problem or make the pain disappear.

Romans tells us to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. That means we don't rush people through their seasons. We meet them where they are and remind them they don't have to walk through it alone.

Jesus didn't love people only when their need was new or convenient. Neither should we.

Be the person who remembers.

Be the person who checks again.

Be the person who stays.

Think of someone who went through something difficult weeks or even months ago. Reach out this weekend and simply ask, โ€œHow are you doing ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ?โ€ Then make room for the real answer.

โ€œHere am I. Send me.โ€ โ€” Isaiah 6:8

Father, help me love people beyond the moment when everyone else moves on. "Be still, and know that I am God."
Psalm 46:10 NIV

We spend a lot of time asking God for direction.

We ask Him what we should do next, which decision we should make, where He's leading us, and what His plan is. But sometimes, while we're waiting for an answer, we fill every quiet space with noise.

Work. Responsibilities. Phones. Other people's opinions. Our own plans. Even serving and doing good things can keep us so busy ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜Ž๐˜ฐ๐˜ฅ that we forget to simply spend time ๐˜ธ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ฉ ๐˜Ž๐˜ฐ๐˜ฅ.

Psalm 46:10 gives us a simple instruction: "Be still."

Stop. Get quiet. Pay attention.

You don't need a mountaintop, a retreat, or the perfect setting to seek God intentionally. You simply need to make room.

Before you rush into another week asking, ๐˜ž๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ฉ? spend some time asking different questions:

Then be still long enough to listen.

What noise do you need to quiet this week so you can better hear what God may be saying to you?

Father, quiet the noise around me and within me. Help me slow down, become still, and make room for Your voice.
