This Sunday, June 7, we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi. Immediately following the 11:30am Mass, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for Adoration until the closing of Solemn Vespers at 5:00pm.

This feast is special because it recognizes Jesus truly present in the Eucharist- His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. We know that on Holy Thursday, at the Last Supper, Jesus instituted the gift of the Eucharist. Gathering before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament allows us to express our love, gratitude and faith in the Lord who is always present and always faithful to us. ๐ŸŒŸ

Consider setting aside time to sit with Jesus and celebrate what He has given us, even if for a few minutes. Sit and talk with Him as a friend, ponder how much He loves you. Everyone is invited.

As written in the Second Vatican Council, "The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life." May we come and praise our Lord, giving thanks for such an awesome gift, one that we have the honor of receiving at each celebration of Mass. โœจ

Good Morning, friends! โ˜€๏ธ Today, we celebrate Trinity Sunday, meaning we celebrate the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธโœจ The priest wears white vestments for this celebration to symbolize joy, glory, and the light of God!

Since we finished the Easter season last Sunday on Pentecost, we are officially back in Ordinary Time, so if you would go to a Mass during the week, and it is not a special Feast or Memorial, Father would be in green vestments. We have another special Sunday feast next week, the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus (Corpus Christi), where Father will still don a white vestment, then we go back to green on the weekends.

The Holy Trinity celebrates the mystery of one God in three persons. In our human nature, we can โ€œover complicateโ€ the mystery by wanting to figure out how one God is in three persons, but itโ€™s more about accepting how God is greater than we can ever imagine and His love for us is infinite. We hear this in our readings today.

In Exodus, God reveals himself to Moses as a loving and merciful Father. In the second reading to Saint Paul to the Corinthians, he proclaims that the grace of Jesus, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit should dwell with us always. Finally, in the Gospel, we hear the famous line that is always seen at football games on posters: John 3:16, โ€œFor God so loved the world.โ€ Through the Trinity, God gave His son to us, His son gave His life for us, and the Holy Spirit is here to continually guide us. We proclaim this mystery every time we make the Sign of the Cross.

With Godโ€™s outpouring love, mercy and guidance for us, we can echo our responsorial psalm today: Glory and Praise for ever!

Have a great week! ๐ŸŒธ

To accompany his constant calls for peace in the world, Pope Leo XIV will lead the prayer of the Holy Rosary on May 30 at 7:00 PM Rome time from the Vatican Gardens.

He will lead the faithful in Shrines around the world in praying the Joyful Mysteries, with each decade being dedicated specifically for those affected by war and violence and entrusting them to the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace.

The first mystery prays for the victims of war, especially the most vulnerable, while the second is for those who bring words of hope and the comfort of faith to populations affected by war. The third recalls the medical and paramedical personnel and volunteers who bring humanitarian aid every day.

The fourth mystery prays for those who suffer the violence of war, for prisoners and for all who endure humiliations that violate human dignity. The fifth and final Joyful Mystery is dedicated to praying for an end to war and the establishment of lasting peace in the world.

Lord God,
Today we remember with gratitude those who gave their lives in service to our country.
Grant eternal rest to the fallen, comfort to their families, and peace to all who mourn.

May the sacrifice of these brave men and women never be forgotten.
Teach us to work for justice, seek peace, and love one another as Christ has loved us.

Bless our veterans, active military members, first responders, and all who protect others in service and sacrifice.

Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, may our nation be guided in wisdom and charity.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
