Pardon the confusion, but these are confusing times:

The TBS Religious School will make up lost days from January on February 6th and 7th (not on March 13th & 14th as previously advertised). We'll see you back in class this Sunday!

01/03/2022

Due to the recent surge in Omicron transmission on the heels of Holiday travel, both Rabbi Goodman and myself (with the approval of the TBS RS Parent Committee) have decided to cancel Religious School classes this upcoming Sunday and Monday (January 9th and 10th). We will still have off the 16th and 17th for MLK day, and we will return to class January 23rd.

The cancelled classes will be rescheduled for March 13th and 14th.

We acknowledge that our students attend various schools and campuses all over town, and we are hoping that giving our community an additional two weeks off will slow the transmission of the virus to these other institutions.

The safety of our students and staff remain our top priority.

Sincerely,

Rabbi Jonathan Hodson

Director of the Judy and Ronald Mack School for Religious Studies

Our school is heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved namesake, Judy Mack. Besides being the benefactor of Temple Beth Sholom's religious school, Judy was also influential in opening the Sterling Kronberg Mack Holocaust resource center that is hosted at TBS. Not only was Judy a pillar in the Las Vegas Jewish community, but she was a proud zionist and helped to open the Ramat HaNegev High School in Israel. As a devoted mother and grandmother, her love extended not only to her biological children, but also to the hundreds of children that the Judy and Ronald Mack Religious School has served since it's inception. Judy has left an incredible legacy that our school is proud to sustain.

Baruch Dayun Emet: We love you Judy!

Temple Beth Sholom is committed to hosting a safe, in-person religious school this Fall for all our students. Last school year was anything but normal, but our professional staff of teachers and administrators made sure to follow our health and safety guidelines to make sure everyone was protected. Because of this, our Religious School had zero Covid-19 transmission cases for the entire school year. We will continue to monitor and implement new safety measures as needed to ensure that our children stay healthy when they are on our campus.

Our religious school provides a solid foundation to teach our children Hebrew language skills and Jewish traditions in an innovative, vibrant, and spiritually uplifting environment. We lead students to understand the big ideas of Conservative Judaism; an experience that will have lasting value long after students leave the classroom!

Sincerely,
Rabbi Jonathan Hodson: Director of the TBS Religious School
