You might see us describe ourselves as a "Matthew 25 Church" — here's what that actually means. 💛

It comes from a passage where Jesus talks about caring for "the least of these" — feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, caring for the sick. Being a Matthew 25 Church means we've committed to living that out on purpose: fighting poverty, working against structural racism, and building a more just, compassionate community.

It's not about being a certain "kind" of church — it's about putting faith into action, every week, in tangible ways. The food pantry, prayer shawls, grants, meals, community space — it's all connected to this one idea.

It's back-to-school season in Las Vegas, NM!

Between New Mexico Highlands University, United World College, and Luna Community College, our little town is about to get a whole lot busier — new faces, new energy, and a lot of people figuring out where they belong for the first time.

If that's you (or someone you know) — professor, first-year, transfer student, grad student, staff member — we'd love to have you. Church isn't just for people who grew up going. It's for anyone looking for a steady place to land.

Sometimes the biggest barrier to getting to church — or to a doctor's appointment, or the grocery store — is simply a ride.

Our Hospitality and Ride Sharing volunteers help make sure that's never the reason someone misses out. If you or someone you know needs a ride to worship or to run essential errands, give us a call.

Our Monthly Mobile Food Pantry, in partnership with The Food Depot of Santa Fe, returns this Friday, August 14th, from 9:00–10:30am (or while supplies last). It takes places the second Friday of every month.

📍 New location: the grounds of Luna Vocational Community College (thank you to President Linder and LVC for hosting us!)

We're seeing record numbers of neighbors come through — Everyone is welcome, no paperwork, no judgment — just fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, cheese, eggs, bread, and more.

We can always use more hands! 🙌

Our Mobile Food Pantry runs every second Friday of the month, and our team of about 30 volunteers shows up rain or shine to load food into neighbors' cars.

If you've got a couple hours on a Friday morning and want to do something genuinely good for your community, we'd love to have you.

No experience needed — just a willingness to lift, smile, and connect with neighbors.

It's a season of new beginnings here at First United Presbyterian Church. 🌅

With Pastor Sharon Tatum-Gray now leading us — and her husband James part of our church family too — we're feeling energized about what's next, not just for our congregation, but for how we show up in Las Vegas, NM.

The food pantry, the Old Town Mission, the choirs, the grants, the Friday meals — all of it continues, and we're excited to keep growing it together.

If you've been thinking about visiting, or it's been a while since you've been back, this is a really good moment. We'd love to have you be part of this next chapter — however that looks for you.

Our Mobile Food Pantry, in partnership with The Food Depot of Santa Fe, returns on Friday, August 14th, from 9:00–10:30am (or while supplies last).
