Community Invitation,
On April 28, Jewish Nevada and King David will be hosting Moshe Rozenberg, CEO of ZAKA, Israel’s internationally recognized volunteer emergency response and recovery organization. ZAKA is known for its sacred work—responding to terror attacks, disasters, and tragedies with dignity, ensuring proper care for the deceased in accordance with Jewish law, and supporting families in moments of unimaginable loss.
Since October 7th, ZAKA has been on the front lines in Israel, carrying out this holy work under extraordinarily difficult circumstances. Their efforts have been both heroic and heartbreaking and hearing directly from Moshe offers a rare and powerful window into that experience.
You are invited to attend this meaningful and informative program. Please use this link to register for this event:

Dear Rabbis and Community Leaders,
King David Memorial Cemetery has a unique one-time opportunity to bury a huge amount of shames on June 2, 2025. Thanks to a generous family that has made the decision to transfer their deceased parents from the King David Memorial Cemetery to burial in Israel, has allowed us to use both graves to create two genizah plots to bury our community’s shames - prayer books and other sacred texts which G-d’s name is written; ritual items like tallitot and kippot; and Torah scrolls so worn with time that they have become no longer kosher.

This one-time event will take place on Monday June 2, 2025, from 8:00AM-3:00PM. We will have two concrete vaults in our parking lot to place the shames. We ask that all items be brought in boxes for easy placement.

Feel free to pass this information on to your congregation, colleagues, and anyone that would like to take this opportunity to bury these sacred items.

Please call us at King David Memorial Chapel if you have any questions.

Her leadership continues to shape and inspire our work in the funeral profession, and her commitment to serving families with care is a testament to the vital role women play in this industry. We’re grateful for her and and everything she does to make Palm Mortuaries an organization of excellence!
