Our Heavenly Father saw fit to take Reverend Dr. Alfred Smith Sr., from this earth to a better home. The Parent Body and Members of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc., Southwest Region, extend our heartfelt sympathy to Reverend Dr. Alfred Smith Sr.'s entire family, Reverend Dr. Jacqueline Thompson, the members of Allen Temple Baptist Church of Oakland, CA, and all those Reverend Dr. Alfred Smith Sr. touched over the years. The Convention, Church, and community have suffered a significant loss. Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest".
