Happy June kids!!
This month, we are learning about the armor of God!
Ephesians 6:13-17 tells us what to put on each day: You can point to your wall hanging and
have the students read with you:
Therefore put on the full Armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to
stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt
of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your
feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up
the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the
helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
To belong to Jesus makes us sort of like knights! We are
the strong and mighty defenders of the faith against all forces of darkness! We just need to be prepared with our own Armor of God!
We don’t have to be afraid of dark forces-unless, of course, we decide to follow them!
We need to remember the six parts of the Armor of God and let the Holy Spirit help us
put them on every morning. We’ll be as warm and prepared as a ski patrol in winter-or
knights defending what’s good, for the Lord’s sake!
