Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces

Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces We are blessed with a beautiful diocese. The people are friendly, warm, and deeply spiritual. We try to serve as He served. Come and see us.

Our people are hungry for God's word and the life of the sacraments. We are concerned about all the spiritual and human needs of our people and try to be as compassionate as Jesus was.

Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, when Christ Jesus, the beloved Only Begotten Son of the Eternal Father, in the presence of the holy Apostles Peter, James, and John, with the Law and the Prophets as witnesses, made his glory manifest, so that, in the humility of our servile form which he took to himself, he might signify our glorious renewal through grace, and the image of God, in which man was created, once deformed in Adam and reformed in Christ, might be proclaimed even to the ends of the earth.

From July 17–19, Bishop Peter and the Deacons of our diocese will be attending their Annual Retreat at the Holy Cross Retreat Center in Las Cruces.

This year, they will be led by Deacon Wally Calabrese (Diocese of Raleigh), a retired U.S. Marine, author of Embodied in Service, Emboldened by Grace, husband, father and grandfather. Deacon Wally will be guiding them in looking deeply at who we are becoming in Christ the Servant.

Please join us in praying for our deacons and Bishop Peter this weekend. Pray that this time in the quiet beauty of the retreat center allows them to rest, reset, and return to us with a renewed spirit of service.
