is a God-fearing child and servant of the Risen Savior. Allen is the eldest of eight children born to Allen L., Sr. He joined the First Baptist Church of Randolph Street, NW in 1995 and under the leadership of Pastor Frank D. He recently moved his membership to the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. His favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
A native Washingtonian, he attended the public schools in both the District of Columbia and Maryland. Allen is currently furthering his Christian education as a third-year student at Greater Mount Calvary Bible Institute working towards a certificate in Biblical Studies. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Human Services from Lincoln University (Pennsylvania) in May 2001 and is currently matriculating at Howard University’s School of Divinity. Minister Tillman is the creator and host of the “Road 2 Recovery” television broadcast. Road 2 Recovery features many community based ministries that address the issues of the 21st century. The broadcast also feature many of the local and national gospel musical performers. The Lord has led Minister Tillman to chronicle his experiences with the development of men’s ministries by authoring the book entitled “Just A Few Good Men.”
He shares his talents and gifts with community and faith-based organizations. He is presently employed as a Career Specialist serving disenfranchised populations in the Washington, D.C. Minister Tillman has promoted several “Career Fairs” that have enabled many people to secure viable employment. He is also a skilled workshop presenter. He is also an active member of the East of River Clergy Response Team. Minister Tillman’s greatest desire is to promote and inspire men’s ministries in the Washington metropolitan area. Therefore, he founded the Men’s Ministry Coalition (“MMC”), which is a collaborative effort of several men’s Christian organizations in the metropolitan area. The goal of the MMC is to organize men’s ministries across the nation that develop and empower men in supportive leadership through spiritual retreats and workshops. Since 1998, the MMC has held an Annual Men’s Retreat in the mountains of Middletown, Maryland. This ministry has allowed over 300 men to give their lives to the Lord.
