We have officially completed our 10-week marriage Bible study through the Love & Respect curriculum, and what a powerful journey it has been!
These past ten weeks brought insightful discussions, meaningful conversations, conviction, and a deeper understanding of God’s design for marriage. We were challenged not only to look at our spouse differently, but also to examine our own hearts, attitudes, words, and responsibilities within our marriage.
We studied Ephesians 5:21–28, where Scripture teaches us to:
“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
Paul goes on to teach wives about respect and submission to their husbands, and husbands about sacrificially loving their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her.
What stood out so deeply is that God calls both husband and wife to something greater than simply getting along. He calls us to reflect Christ in the way we love, serve, honor, forgive, communicate, and care for one another.
A husband’s leadership is not about control but it is about sacrificial love.
A wife’s submission is not about weakness but it is about trusting God’s order and honoring her husband.
And above everything, both are called to submit to Christ.
Marriage is not about “What am I getting?” but “How can I love my spouse the way Christ has called me to love?”
These ten weeks reminded us that a strong marriage isn’t built when two perfect people come together. It is built when two imperfect people continually surrender themselves to a perfect God.
May what we have learned not end with this Bible study. May it become the way we live, love, communicate, forgive, and serve our spouses every day.
And may our marriages become a testimony of Christ’s love, grace, humility, and covenant faithfulness.
“For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her.” Ephesians 5:25
To every couple who completed these 10 weeks: we celebrate you! May God continue strengthening your marriages and making your homes a reflection of His love. ❤️
In your corner praying and cheering for you,
