What is this all about?
Where do I start?
Our dear friends from the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Australia (RPCA), Jono and Louise Blakston and their youngest son, have been serving on behalf of the Reformed Presbyterian Global Missions (RPGM) in Wanyjok, South Sudan for the past year and a half. Their original role was meant to be that of key support of the main Missionary family who were leading the ministry and mission. Things got really difficult when the main family had to suddenly leave late last year and the Blakston family found themselves the sole managers of the mission. To add to that the founder of the Cush Christian School returned the USA permanently and the running of the school was taken up by Louise. In many ways they found themselves both isolated but with tremendous responsibility and endless pastoral and practical tasks. RPGM and the RPCA have been doing all that we can to help support Jono and Louise through this, including sending family and friends on special trips to visit them in South Sudan. Megan participated in one such visit in April of this year. During her visit Megan was able to help set up the new library that was gifted and organised by the Geelong RPCA. Following Megan's profitable two-week trip to Wanyjok we were asked to consider visiting for a longer period. After discussions with the RPGM Board they approved a visit by our family from December 2026-February 2027. I (Brandon) was able to gain the support from my employer (Siemens Mobility) to take this extended leave period from work and Megan was cleared by the leadership at her school. These milestones were answers to prayer. However, now begins the work of raising needed funds to send Megan and I plus our three youngest to South Sudan for three months.
