The Idumea Cemetery began its existence around 1872 when Cyrus Parsons, founder of Idumea Baptist Church, buried his two young children. The church held a second dedication in 1879 when 5 acres of land was deeded to the church which included the cemetery.

The Idumea Cemetery Association, organized in 1976 and incorporated in 1977, provides for the upkeep of the cemetery by raising funds to keep the grounds a place to be proud of, now and in the future.

To request and choose a grave site at Idumea Cemetery contact Cemetery Board Member, Connie Simmons 573-308-6061.

At this time the Cemetery Association requests a donation of $200 for a single plot, $400 for double.

Donations given throughout the year provide funds for general maintenance and improvements of Cemetery grounds.

A box for donations is placed by the gate of the cemetery during the week before and week of Memorial Day.

Also Memorials can be designated for Idumea Cemetery at the time of a funeral.

Checks should be made out to Idumea Cemetery Association and mailed to Jennifer Watson, 29060 Snipe Rd, Richland, MO 65556.
