The Fifteenth Sunday after Trinity ✝️

This Sunday, the words of Christ invite us to trust more deeply, worry less, and seek God first.

“Seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” — St. Matthew 6:33

Jesus points us to the birds of the heaven and the lilies of the field as reminders of our Heavenly Father’s loving care. If God provides for His creation, how much more can we entrust our lives to Him?

In the Epistle, St. Paul turns our attention to the Cross: “God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Our hope is not in appearances or the things of this world, but in Christ, through whom we are made a new creation.

And in our Collect, we ask God to keep His Church in His perpetual mercy, protect us from what is hurtful, and lead us toward everything profitable to our salvation.

This Sunday, let us seek His Kingdom first, trust His care, walk in peace and mercy, and place tomorrow in His hands.

✝️ The Fourteenth Sunday after Trinity.
The Collect
ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, give unto us the increase of faith, hope, and charity; and, that we may obtain that which thou dost promise, make us to love that which thou dost command; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Epistle — Galatians v. 16
I SAY then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

The Gospel — St. Luke xvii. 11
AND it came to pass, as Jesus went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: and they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

🌿 THE EIGHTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY 🌿🙏

This Sunday, the Church calls us to live as faithful children of God, guided by the Holy Spirit and bearing fruit that reflects His love and truth.

📖 The Collect reminds us that God’s providence never fails. We pray that He would remove all that is harmful from our lives and grant us those things that are truly good and profitable for our salvation.

📖 The Epistle — Romans 8:12–17

St. Paul reminds us that we are no longer slaves to the flesh but are called to live by the Spirit.

✨ We are God’s beloved children.
✨ We have received the Spirit of adoption.
✨ We may confidently cry, “Abba, Father.”
✨ As God’s children, we are heirs with Christ and called to share in His glory.

📖 The Gospel — Matthew 7:15–21

Jesus lovingly warns us to beware of false prophets who appear harmless but lead others away from the truth.

“Ye shall know them by their fruits.”
— Matthew 7:16

The Lord teaches that genuine faith is revealed not only by our words, but by the fruit our lives produce. A life rooted in Christ will bear the fruits of love, humility, kindness, truth, and obedience to God’s will.

🙏✨ THE SEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY ✨🙏

This Sunday’s readings remind us that God is both the giver of eternal life and the compassionate provider of all our needs.

📖 The Collect

We pray that God would plant within our hearts a deeper love for His holy Name, increase our faith, nourish us with His goodness, and keep us steadfast in His mercy.

📖 The Epistle — Romans 6:19–23

St. Paul calls us to leave behind the slavery of sin and become servants of righteousness.

✝️ Sin leads to death.
🌿 Holiness leads to life.
🎁 “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

God invites us to live lives that bear the fruit of holiness, walking each day in His grace.

📖 The Gospel — Mark 8:1–9

Seeing the great crowd that had followed Him for three days without food, Jesus was moved with compassion.

With only seven loaves and a few small fish, He gave thanks, blessed them, and fed more than four thousand people. Everyone ate and was satisfied, and seven baskets of food remained.

This miracle reminds us that Christ not only cares for our spiritual lives but also for our daily needs. When we place what little we have into His hands, He blesses it beyond our expectations.

⚓ Happy Sea Sunday! 🌊🙏

Today, we join churches and maritime ministries around the world in celebrating Sea Sunday—a special day to honor, pray for, and give thanks for the seafarers, fishermen, and maritime workers whose dedication keeps our world connected.

Every voyage represents sacrifice. For months at a time, seafarers are away from their families, working through challenging conditions to ensure that the food, medicine, fuel, and everyday essentials we depend on reach communities across the globe.

At Seafarers’ House at Port Everglades, we are honored to serve these remarkable men and women by providing a home away from home through transportation, free Wi-Fi, pastoral care, hospitality, friendship, and compassionate support.

Today, we invite you to pause and pray:

🙏 Prayer for Seafarers

Loving God, watch over all who sail the seas. Protect them from danger, strengthen them in times of loneliness, and fill their hearts with peace and hope. Bless their families while they are apart, and guide every voyage safely until they are reunited with those they love. May every seafarer know they are valued, remembered, and never alone. Amen.

🙏✨ THE SIXTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY ✨🙏

This Sunday, the Church invites us to reflect on the transforming power of God’s grace. Through Baptism, we are united with Christ in His death and resurrection, called to leave behind our old life of sin and walk each day in the newness of life He has given us.

📖 The Collect

We pray that God would pour into our hearts such a deep love for Him that, loving Him above all else, we may receive His promises—blessings beyond anything we could ever imagine.

📖 The Epistle — Romans 6:3–11

St. Paul reminds us that in Baptism we are buried with Christ and raised with Him to a new life.

✝️ Die to sin.
🌅 Live for Christ.
❤️ Walk in newness of life.
🙏 Remember that Christ’s victory over death is now our hope and our strength.

Because Christ lives forever, we are called to live each day for God.

📖 The Gospel — Matthew 5:20–26

Our Lord teaches that true righteousness is more than outward obedience—it begins in the heart.

Jesus calls us to:

🤝 Be reconciled with one another.
❤️ Let go of anger and resentment.
🕊️ Seek peace before offering our worship.
✨ Live with hearts transformed by God’s love.

True discipleship is not simply avoiding wrongdoing, but becoming people whose hearts reflect the mercy, holiness, and love of Christ.

Reflection

The Epistle teaches us who we are in Christ—new creations through Baptism.

The Gospel teaches us how we should live—with forgiveness, humility, and reconciliation.

As we remember our Baptism, may we die daily to sin, forgive generously, seek peace with others, and walk faithfully in the new life Christ has given us.
