Remembering is a sacred act.

Today, we honor Juneteenth and celebrate the freedom it represents. While June 19, 1865 was a historic day, it also reminds us that the pursuit of justice continues.

As followers of Jesus, we believe every person is made in the image of God. We honor the faith, resilience, and legacy reflected in this day, and we look forward to the promise of every nation, tribe, and tongue worshiping together as one.

We believe every person is loved, belongs, and has purpose.

That’s why every summer we load up the ice cream truck, host block parties, and show up in neighborhoods across our city. Not just to hand out free ice cream, but to create moments where people can experience connection, community, and the love of Jesus.

For many years, this cross stood above our church. Soon, it will stand among us. A reminder that Jesus came near, carried His cross for us, and welcomes all people to come to Him. At the foot of the cross, the ground is level. No one stands above another. Here we find grace, mercy, hope, and new life in Christ.

May this place be a space for prayer, reflection, healing, and renewal.
Come to the cross. Come to Christ.

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
— Matthew 11:28 (ESV)

Our prayer is simple:
That this cross would continue to point people to Jesus. That it would remind us that God came near. That it would draw people closer to Christ, closer to one another, and closer to God's mission. And that all who pass by would know they are welcome. The cross has not changed—we have simply brought it closer.
