Sunday's coming! Tomorrow is the second Sunday of Eastertide, known as Thomas Sunday (see link) because of the Gospel reading. Lectionary: Acts 2:14a,22-32 or Gen 8:6-16, 9:8-16 * Ps. 111 * 1 Pet 1:3-9 * John 20:19-31

Collect: "Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen."

"No longer Thomas then denied,
he saw the feet, the hands, the side;
'Thou art my Lord and God,' he cried.
Alleluia!"

The Apostle Thomas is often known for doubting Jesus' resurrection, but there is much to celebrate about this saint on his feast day.

✝️ Maundy Thursday Service ✝️

You are invited to join us in person or on Facebook Live as the congregations of Woodview Church of the Nazarene and Christ the King Anglican come together for a meaningful evening of worship, remembering the Last Supper and Jesus’ command to love one another.

📅 Thursday, April 2nd
🕡 6:30 p.m.
📍 Woodview Church of the Nazarene
1500 E. State Rd., Lansing, MI

Maundy Thursday marks the night Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples, washed their feet, and demonstrated servant-hearted love. This reflective service will include Scripture, worship, prayer, foot washing, and communion as we prepare our hearts for Good Friday and Easter. All are welcome. Come experience this sacred moment of Holy Week with us.

Sunday's coming! This weekend marks the fifth Sunday of Lent, also known as Passion Sunday. Note upcoming Woodview game night this coming Friday, 3/27; also consider joining us for footwashing at a joint Maundy Thursday service on 4/2. Triduum services and times TBA.

Passion Sunday lectionary: Ezek 37:1-14 * Ps 130 * Rom 6:15-23 * John 11:(1-17)18-44

Collect: "Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of this world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen."

Holy Week will soon be upon us! Visit the link below for ideas for observing Palm Sunday at home.

Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week, and Ashley Tumlin Wallace is here to tell us how we can celebrate in our Liturgical Home.

Meditation on the Feast of St. Joseph, Husband of the Virgin Mary and Guardian of Jesus (today, March 19) from our friends at Anglican Compass. His name is often associated with important pro-life work. Let your favorite search engine point you to more!

St. Joseph was the head of the holy family. Yet one of the most striking qualities of Joseph in the gospels is his silence.

Sunday's coming! This weekend is the second Sunday of Lent. Be sure to check last week's sermon at ctkachurch.org if you couldn't join us in person. Also note, as part of accommodating big events two weekends in a row, you may expect to see only very minimal setup tomorrow and putting things away again after service. Lectionary: Gen 12:1-9 * Ps 33:12-21v * Rom 4:1-5(6-12)13-17 * John 3:1-1

"Almighty God, you know that we have no power in ourselves to help ourselves: Keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities that may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts that may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen."

People sometimes ask, what's the difference in "Episcopal" and "Anglican" (in context, typically meaning ACNA)? Check the link below for a snippet from one priest's journey.

Where the Episcopal Church had a rich legacy of historic buildings, the ACNA seemed to be building for the future.
