This young man needs a miracle!! Iāve only met him a few times and donāt know him personally but he is so sweet and is need of many many prayers
On Monday we met Aaron Collier, as the newest one of our amazing . He's fighting osteosarcoma, a raging bone cancer. The day after that post, this rising 7th-grader from Ashe County visited his doctor at Brenner Children's Hospital. What followed was devastating news.
He was told his time is coming to an end. Aaron is now at home with Hospice nursing.
"His grandmother, Cathy Campbell, is ripped apart," said family friend Martie Latham. (Cathy approved Martie as speaking for her as she said she's too overwhelmed right now, but did want people to know the update.) "The cancer has spread too far, no more treatments or options. I'm heartbroken and he isn't even my child. Those who love Aaron and who have raised him are in pain and hoping for anything."
Martie said Cathy is Aaron's fulltime caregiver and the "mom" who has raised him. Cathy's family is with her, helping support them both.
Next Wednesday, July 13th, is Aaron's birthday. He'll be turning 12.
"He is an amazing young man who has been gone through more in this past year than many adults face in a lifetime," Martie said. "He is a warrior, fighter, and superhero. Please continue to hope for a miracle."
