Today we thank God for the mothers and mothering people in our lives—those who have loved, nurtured, taught, prayed, sacrificed, and shown us the gentleness of Christ.

We also remember that this day can hold grief as well as gratitude. Wherever you find yourself today, may you be met by the tender and faithful love of God.
