Buenas noches a todos. A medida que se acerca este fin de semana del Día del Trabajo, seguimos con la novena a Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre.
Esta noche y mañana por la noche son las últimas noches de la novena antes de celebrarla el domingo en la misa de las 9 a. m. Después de la misa tendremos una procesión y compartiremos una comida con platillos cubanos (además de otras delicias :).
Vengan a orar y a aprender. Quédense para comer y divertirse. Así es como lo hacemos en Cristo Rey.🙏🏼🫘☕🙂

Good evening everyone. As we approach this Labor Day weekend we continue the Novena to Our Lady of Charity del Cobre.
Tonight and tomorrow night are the last nights of the Novena before we celebrate her on Sunday at the 9 AM Mass. After the Mass we will have a procession and will share a meal of some Cuban food (along with other goodies:).
Come to pray and learn. Stay for food and fun. It's the Cristo Rey way.🙂

We had a good finish to August these last couple of weeks. We honored Our Lady of Urkupiña on August 15th (Solemnity of the Assumption). On August 16th we began OCIA classes for those adults (and their families) preparing to receive sacraments at Easter Vigil 2027.
There were some enriching trips for our Altar Society and Altar Servers to different parts of Michigan. We welcome three children to become children of God and members of our Church through the baptismal waters this weekend. Lastly we honored a faithful servant leader in Lupe Castillo as she steps back from leading ministries to get husband and family time. Thanks so much Lupe for your 33+ years of dedication and commitment to our youth, our Church, and to feeding the hungry of our community. May God bless you and keep you healthy in the years ahead.😊🙏🏼

Good morning everyone. Yesterday we began the Novena to Our Lady of Urkupiña and we continue that devotion today. You are welcome to come to Eucharistic Adoration between 1 PM and 5 PM or at 7 PM for the second day of the Novena. Lets come together to honor the Mother of God and spend time with her Son, Jesus today. 🙏🏼⛪🕯️

Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel our Annual Church Picnic, which was scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. 😔
It wasn’t an easy decision, but we want to keep our seniors and children safe. 😷
We hope to organize a summer social sometime in the coming month. Stay tuned for updates on our page or website.
Inside the church, the air conditioning is working, and we’ll be ready for our two Masses tomorrow morning. We hope to see you there!⛪✝️🙏🏼
We also have two emergency food distributions—one on Tuesday and one on Friday. Feel free to call Lupe ((517) 202-1311) for more information if your family or someone you know needs assistance.🥩🥦🍱

Good evening everyone! I hope you had a fun and safe celebration of 250 years of Independence for the USA this weekend. Our office will be closed Monday (7/6) in honor of this but we open back up tomorrow. 🇺🇸🎇🎆
Last week we had a great time hosting the Summer Youth Program with solid Catholic teaching, opportunities for prayer, and great fun for our kids and teens in Totus Tuus. This program was run by a fun and faithful team of young adult missionaries in Nancy Lee, Hosanna, Jeremy, and An. They were great witnesses in teaching the Luminous Mysteries and Ten Commandments with our kids and dedicating their summer to a great witness of the Catholic faith throughout the Diocese of Lansing. Thanks to Corinne Kendall and JoAnn Villarreal for their servant leadership and the team of volunteers from local parishes (IHM, St Peters, and St. Andrew Dung Lac) who helped in donating time and food. Our kids learned a lot and had a lot of fun despite the heat. 😆☺️🥵
We look forward to another great group of missionaries to come in the summer of 2027 for another round of Totus Tuus. 🤔✝️⛪📿😇🍨

After celebrating our Senior Citizens last Wednesday we celebrated our high School and College Graduates this past Sunday with an acknowledgement and a blessing at the Noon Mass. Congrats to those who have graduated and are moving on to the next stage of our life. May God guide you and bless you as you move forward into young adulthood. Know you always have a place here at Cristo Rey. 🙂🤝🤲🙌
Thanks to our Altar Society for preparing a wonderful luncheon and to our Silent Auction Committee for providing these scholarships to the winning candidates for the 3rd straight year. Of the ten candidates who applied the Selection Committee of educators chose 4 individuals to be the ones to receive scholarships in the next year towards their college education. Keep working hard and know you have a community of faith to support you!

Good afternoon everyone. We had a great close to the Seniors program yesterday with a nice Mass and picnic at Frances Park as we traditionally have at the end of the year. Thanks to all our dedicated volunteers for creating this spiritual and social haven for our Seniors!
Then this morning some of them have helped prepare for our booth at the Southside Farmers Market. We will be selling tacos, gorditas, rice, beans, elote, fruit, aguas Frescas, and more from 3 to 7 PM today.
Come to the corner of MLK and Jolly by Feeders Pet's Supply to get your meal and some fresh produce and sweets while you're at it. We will be there every two weeks this summer to give you fresh, authentic food at the Farmers Market. 🌮🌽🍍🍉🥤🤤

Buenas tardes a todos. Ayer tuvimos un gran cierre del programa para personas mayores con una bonita Misa y un picnic en el parque Frances, tal y como solemos hacer al final del año. ¡Gracias a todos nuestros dedicados voluntarios por crear este refugio espiritual y social para nuestros mayores!
Además, esta mañana algunos de ellos han ayudado a preparar nuestro puesto en el mercado de agricultores de Southside. Hoy, de 3 a 7 de la tarde, venderemos tacos, gorditas, arroz, frijoles, elote, fruta, aguas frescas y mucho más.
Ven a la esquina de MLK y Jolly, junto a Feeders Pet's Supply, para disfrutar de tu comida y, de paso, llevarte algunos productos frescos y dulces. Este verano estaremos allí cada dos semanas para ofrecerte comida fresca y auténtica en el Farmers Market.

Good morning Everyone.
We had a great year of studying the Word of God, preparing for sacraments, and building healthy and holy friendships this year with the children of our parish. Today we want to celebrate our kids accomplishment this year and the dedication of our catechists with a little party.
After the Masses conclude today you can come to San Martin Hall by 4 PM for games, food, and fun for our young people of the parish. We will finish up by 6 PM. All with kids under 18 are welcome to celebrate a good year and have a good time together. 🎊🌮🍕🌭🤡

Este año hemos disfrutado de una experiencia maravillosa estudiando la Palabra de Dios, preparándonos para los sacramentos y forjando amistades sanas y santas con los niños de nuestra parroquia. Hoy queremos celebrar a nuestros niños
celebrar los logros de este año y la dedicación de nuestros catequistas con una pequeña fiesta.
Hoy, al terminar las misas, pueden venir al salón San Martín antes de las 4 p. m. para disfrutar de juegos, comida y diversión para los jóvenes de la parroquia. Terminaremos a las 6 p. m. Good evening everyone.
I hope you're enjoying this gorgeous spring weather as we approach the weekend. Just as a reminder applications are due this Sunday (April 19th) for the Gran Sueño Cristo Rey Scholarship.
There will be multiple scholarships available this year to the winning students to help with their costs for higher education in the year ahead at a community college or University.
After reviews of the applications from a team of educators scholarships will be awarded at our Graduation Mass on Sunday, June 14th Here are the requirements for applicants:
1. Current Member of Cristo Rey Church
2. 2026 Graduating senior or current college attendee with a 2.5 grade point or higher.
3. A letter of college acceptance or current college schedule is provided.
4. A letter of recommendation from a non-family member is included.
5. Application is submitted to [email protected] no later than 11:59pm April 19, 2026.

Also if you have someone graduating this year contact Guillermo Lopez about having them mentioned in our 2026 CristoRey Fiesta Booklet. Feel free to DM here for that info. We are just five weeks away from FIESTA 2026!! 🎊🌮🌯

Espero que estén disfrutando de este maravilloso clima primaveral ahora que se acerca el fin de semana. Solo como recordatorio, el plazo para presentar las solicitudes para la Beca Gran Sueño Cristo Rey vence este domingo (19 de abril).
Este año habrá varias becas disponibles para los estudiantes seleccionados, con el fin de ayudarles a sufragar los gastos de su educación superior durante el próximo año en un colegio comunitario o una universidad.
Tras la revisión de las solicitudes por parte de un equipo de educadores, las becas se entregarán en nuestra Misa de Graduación el domingo 14 de junio. Estos son los requisitos para los solicitantes:
1. Ser miembro actual de la Iglesia Cristo Rey.
2. Ser estudiante de último año que se graduará en 2026 o estar cursando actualmente estudios universitarios con un promedio de calificaciones de 2.5 o más.
3. Se debe presentar una carta de aceptación de la universidad o el horario actual de clases.
