A Monument is a Tribute to a Person's Life

It is tradition that every American family will erect a monument to a beloved Mother, Father, Son or Daughter. Above all a Monument is a tribute to a person's life. It is a symbol of devotion, an expression of the noblest of all human emotion - LOVE. Your family will purchase a monument because there was LIFE - not a Death. From a simple marker to an ela

Spring brings University of Pennsylvania’s Ivy Day to life. The graduating class designs the date stone, a tradition we have honored for years by carving the winning design in granite. Each years stone can be seen displayed across campus. This year's design is crafted in Pennsylvania Black Granite from French Creek PA. As the only black granite quarried in the US, it's a fitting choice for any memorial. .2026

America 250.
This Memorial was placed by the Pennsylvania Society Sons of the Revolution, the PSSR originally placed this memorial back in 1892. It marks the 6-day encampment of George Washington's army on their way to Valley Forge for the Winter. It was the organizations first commemorative monument placed and has been moved a few times throughout the years.
This 34,000 pound boulder was locally quarried and is now back in the closer proximity to its original location and where the continental army's encampment was.
As a member of the PSSR it was a great honor to be involved with this project. My Father, also a member as was my grandfather were also involved back in the mid 1980's when it was last moved.
But with the great persistence of many members who know their history, the boulder has hopefully been moved for the last time.
We will be Replacing the old bluestone carved insert plaques with new Pennsylvania quarried granite this spring. Looking forward to the re-dedication of the memorial next month.

Many thanks to all that were involved.
