The General Conference of the Schwenkfelder Church is composed of approximately 3000 members in six congregations located in Southeastern Pennsylvania: Palm, Norristown, Lansdale, Worcester and Philadelphia. In the period of 1731 to 1737, approximately 200 Schwenkfelders fled religious persecution in their homeland and settled in eastern Pennsylv

ania. In 1782, the Society of Schwenkfelders was organized. In 1909, descendants of these immigrants incorporated themselves under the name of The Schwenkfelder Church. Education, worship and missions have been major emphases of the church. Its relationships with other Christian churches is enthusiastic as long as Christ is maintained as the head. As confessors of the glory of Christ, we are the spiritual heirs of Caspar Schwenckfeld von Ossig (1489-1561), a German nobleman from Silesia, who became deeply concerned about the church after being influenced by Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation. He sough to make faith a living reality in the Christian’s life and extended the right hand of Christian fellowship to anyone who accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Our purpose is to make Christ really known and to make this knowledge show in the way we live our lives and serve our community and world. Join us for our upcoming Salford Pilgrimage on June 7th at 6:00 PM at the historic Salford Meetinghouse on Fretz Road.

This meaningful evening is always a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with our rich heritage, gather in worship, and experience the incredible acoustics of the Salford Meetinghouse in Lower Salford Township.

The service will include congregational singing, a message from Dr. Andrew Brunson, a brief historical reflection, and an ice cream social to follow. It’s a special time of worship, fellowship, and remembrance that we look forward to each year.

9:30am Summer Church (with Nursey & Children’s Sunday School; location will vary week to week)
10:30am Fellowship Time
11:00am Adult Sunday School
