John 13:34-35⬇️
A new command I give you.
Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

♦️Exhortation
This new commandment speaks the truth in love.
Loving one another as Jesus loved us is the gospel, because it communicates that we are His, that He is worthy and that we are changed because He first loved us.
Loving someone begins with selflessness, because we know we cannot love others without loving God and without being selfless.
This is like Jesus laying down His authority and power and choosing to die on a cross so that we may truly live because of that sacrifice.
To God be all the glory.

Mark 12:28-31⬇️
One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating.
Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, Of all the commandments, which is the most important?
The most important one, answered Jesus, is this, Hear, O Israel the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
The second is this, Love your neighbor as yourself.
There is no commandment greater than these.

♦️Exhortation
When Jesus is asked to say the most important commandment, He provides two.
He numbers them first and second but after speaking, He refers to them as one commandment.
If we love the Lord with everything, we WILL love our neighbors as ourselves.
If we do not love our neighbors as our selves, then that is a reflection of something not being right with our relationship with the Lord.
It is not a call to perfection, it is a call to love both God and others.
Seek the Lord and allow Him to show you opportunities in your life to love others, please forgive and love others as Jesus forgives and loves you.

Acts 20:22-25⬇️
And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there.
I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me, the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again.

♦️Exhortation
Here we have Paul, who is being warned by the Holy Spirit that further persecution will come his way.
Even though that is certain, he continues on toward the goal that Christ Jesus has laid before him.
I can't help but to think of Jonah when I read this passage.
In contrast, God called Jonah to go to Ninevah and Jonah wouldn't go because he couldn't bear the thought of God extending mercy to the people of Ninevah.
Paul makes a better choice about how to handle difficult news from God and that choice is a lesson for all of us.
Remember, God is over all!
To God be all the glory!

1 Corinthians 10:31-33⬇️
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God, even as I try to please everyone in every way.
For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

In Galatians 6:14-16 Paul says, “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.
Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, what counts is the new creation.
Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule to the Israel of God.”

Re: Isaiah 43:25⬇️
I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake and remembers your sins no more.

♦️Exhortation
This promise rings throughout scripture, that God's design for us was always to redeem us to Himself and reconcile our broken relationship.
Jesus Christ restores that relationship and allows us to receive His grace and forgiveness.
When God looks on believers in Christ, He sees His perfect Son standing in as our strong foundation.

Zechariah 2:10-11⬇️
Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion.
For I am coming and I will live among you, declares the Lord.
Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people.
I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.

♦️Exhortation
Indeed, people from many nations have come to faith in Jesus Christ.
By grace through faith in Him alone the Holy Spirit has made residence within them.
This is also prophecy of the fulfillment of God’s covenant with Abram from long ago in Genesis.
Genesis 17:3-5 “Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, ‘As for me, this is my covenant with you.
You will be the father of many nations.
No longer will you be called Abram, your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.”
To God be all the glory.

Re: John 17:15-19⬇️
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
Sanctify them by the truth, your word is truth.
As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

♦️Exhortation
Jesus is praying for His disciples and those who would come to believe in Him.
Jesus prays for us to live in this world but to live knowing that we do not belong to the world.
We are set apart as Christ was set apart, set apart in the truth of God's Word.
He has called us to live in this world with courage and compassion and has appealed to the Father on our behalf!
To God be all the glory

Re: 1 Kings 18:22-24
Then Elijah said to them, I am the only one of the Lord’s prophets left but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets.
Get two bulls for us.
Let Baal’s prophets choose one for themselves and let them cut it into pieces and put it on the wood but not set fire to it.
I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire to it.
Then you call on the name of your god and I will call on the name of the Lord.
The god who answers by fire, he is God.
Then all the people said, What you say is good.

♦️Exhortation
The prophet Elijah and Baal on Mt. Carmel.
The nation of Israel has been led astray and given herself to idols and the worship of other gods.
Elijah is the only prophet of the Lord left because others have been killed.
God has brought Elijah here for justice, to remind Israel of who He is and that they have long since left their first love.
In the midst of everyone at Mt. Carmel, the Lord answered Elijah’s call by fire.
To God be all the glory.

Psalm 139:16-18⬇️
Your eyes saw my unformed body, all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand, when I awake, I am still with you.

♦️Exhortation
If you have ever doubted that the Lord delights in you, read these verses carefully and meditate upon the love of God.
As a loving Father, His thoughts are on us so much more than we think.
When we begin to pray, His full attention has already been on us, because God's attention can be fully on everything and everyone at the same time.
The magnitude of who He is and what He is capable of doing is mysterious.

Matthew 15:32-38⬇️
Jesus called his disciples to him and said, I have compassion for these people, they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat.
I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.
His disciples answered, Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?
How many loaves do you have? Jesus asked.
Seven, they replied and a few small fish.
He told the crowd to sit down on the ground.
Then he took the seven loaves and the fish and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples and they in turn to the people.
They all ate and were satisfied.
Afterward, the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children.

♦️Exhortation
Jesus is the one behind the miracle, Jesus is also the BREAD OF LIFE, which is more important than the miracle.
Everyone present in this crowd knows they are eating because of Jesus but so many can’t see past that.
They want to stick with Jesus so that they get another free meal, not to be in true relationship with Him.
1st Peter 2:2-3 says, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”

Jesus compassion gives the crowd a taste but will they believe that He is the bread of life and follow Him faithfully forever and ever? Us, believers of nowadays should also ask ourselves this question genuinely.
To God be all the glory.
