On the afternoon of Sunday, March 8, 2026, Father Sean had the privilege of giving the Invocation and Benediction at the Troop 10 (Lower Makefield, PA) Eagle Scout Court of Honor. Youth Group member Finneas W. "Finn" Pluger, along with four other boys, was awarded this highest rank of Eagle Scout. Finn achieved this rank by earning 33 merit badges, holding multiple leadership positions within his troop, participating in a wide range of sports and extra-curricular activities, and being a person of outstanding character.

Congratulations and blessings to you, Finn!

A few words from Finn about his scouting experience:
"I first began my Scouting journey when I joined Pack 19 as a Tiger Scout. I didn't know what to expect for the future and it wasn't really something I thought about.... A big thank you to my dad for being our Den Leader and have to deal with us (young men). One of my most memorable experiences in Boy Scouts was when I went to see Sea Base and sailed around Caribbean for a week. Getting to see all the wildlife and learning how to sail was really cool... Scouting has taught me so many things about the world and myself. It has helped me grow into the person I am today, and I'm so thankful for all the people who were there to help me on my journey."

Here is a paraphrase of Father Sean's Invocation:
Let us pray.
Every day is sacred, and every gathering an opportunity to give thanks:
For the glorious and beautiful land which we inhabit.
For our health.
For our families, for their sacrifices and unconditional love.
For our ancestors and the ancient wisdom they have passed on to us.
For those who wear the uniform: the women and men in the armed forces; police officers; fire fighters; emergency medical personnel; first responders; and all those committed to public service and preserving our freedoms.
For teachers, mentors, scout masters:
We thank them for their dedication.
On this day, as we honor the young men who will be named Eagle Scouts – Andrew, Finn, Daniel, Benjamin, and Jack – may we all be blessed to fulfill our potential and continue to put service above self.
All this we pray, Amen.

Paraphrase of Father Sean's Benediction:
Let us pray.
To Andrew, Finn, Daniel, Benjamin, and Jack:
Remember this day.
Remember that merit badges and Eagle Scout rankings are earned, but life is bestowed.
Life is a gift from our parents, our ancestors, and our Creator.
Life is unpredictable.
As we send you into the world, remember this day.
Remember these people (in the audience) who have affirmed your achievements, acts of service, call to leadership, good citizenship, charitable ways, and striving to put forth your best.
Remember that none of them have asked you to be perfect.
When you face adversity, times of doubt and despair -- and you will -- remember us. Don’t hesitate to ask us for help.
We are your fan club; we are your helpers; we are your extended troop.
Remember how proud we are and how deeply we respect you.
May the memory of this day, and the blessing of the Almighty and all-merciful God, be upon you now and forevermore. Amen.
