MAUNDY THURSDAY:
The word "Maundy" is originated from the Latin word called "mandatum,"which means, “commandment." This day is named after Jesus' commandment to his disciples to love one another.
Maundy Thursday demonstrates the importance of humility and service by remembering Jesus washing the feet of his disciples.
Also known as Holy Thursday. This is known to be the day that Jesus partook in his final Passover meal with his disciples.

John 13:1-35
We see on Wednesday the emphasis was Judas would meet and agree to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. The Chief priest and elders would look for an opportunity to arrest Jesus. Jesus would spend time resting and teaching on why he would soon be crucified.
THURSDAY: If Wednesday was a day of rest, Thursday would be the opposite. Jesus knew he would soon he would be ultimately betrayed by Judas with a kiss, seized and arrested.
It was an intense time as the Cross drew nearer. On Thursday, Jesus celebrated Passover, He taught His disciples, He prayed in Gethsemane, then allowed Himself to be betrayed by one of His own disciples and arrested by soldiers sent by the religious leaders.
What would it have been like for the disciples to go from the celebration of the Passover meal and the full teaching of Jesus in the upper room, to the shadows of Gethsemane and the horror of seeing Jesus betrayed, arrested, and led off by an armed mob? Although Jesus had told them multiple times this would happen, the disciples had never understood.
Thursday night, their nightmare began…
Thursday teaches us that sometimes God allows us to experience unimaginable circumstances because He is working out a greater purpose for His glory. Trust Him when you don’t understand.
Friday would hold much more for Jesus and his disciples…
