You're invited to worship with us this Sunday at New Liberation AME Church!

This week's message, "Tap In," comes from John 14:16–17, 25–28 and reminds us that Jesus did not leave us alone. Through the Holy Spirit, we are taught, reminded of God's promises, and given a peace that the world cannot provide.

If you've been feeling uncertain about what's next, come discover how God has already given you access to the guidance, wisdom, and peace you need.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you..." — John 14:27

Join us in person or online as we continue our theme: God Is Able: Faith for What's Next.

The Holy Spirit moves. Some people doubt it, but I’ve watched God do too many things to not believe!

The voice of our Young Adult guest Psalmist is worth sharing with the world. God has blessed her with voice and glad we could experience it on Sunday.

Rev. Tomika McFadden clearly brought a powerful, timely word reminding everyone that "God is always working behind the scenes."

Guest Preacher: Rev. Tomika McFadden (who truly "came ready to eat and left no crumbs"!) Sermon Theme: God is Still Working! STRATEGY OF PRAYER!
Scripture Focus: NLV Ephesians 1:15-25.

The Core Charge: Pastor Rev. McFadden charged the congregation to pray that God would “open the eyes of our heart.”

💎 Powerful Sermon Nuggets & Truth: Hope is the stubborn, insistent belief that God is fully active, even when human history appears stagnant.

Unseen Movement: When we pray, God is actively working, moving, and shifting things—even when our physical eyes cannot see it.

Divine Overrule: When Jesus says YES, absolutely nobody can say NO. Christ is elevated above everything, and Jesus always gets the final word. (Also sung by the Psalmist)

Unstoppable Love: No matter what adversity or trial we face, there is absolutely no demon in hell that can separate us from the love of God.

Loving in Adversity: Loving others through difficult times is highly challenging, but through Christ, it is completely doable (spoken to me personally).

🎶 Music Ministry Missed but Appreciated: The congregation missed the incredible ministry of Music Leader, Sis. Dramine, and keeps her lifted up.

Guest Psalmist: A huge congratulations and appreciation to guest psalmist Trinity Colbert! She blessed the service with her gift of song fresh off graduating from Howard University with a Bachelor of Music Therapy and a minor in Classical Voice.

We share this because Sunday’s sermon addressed the efforts to pass the voting rights act and how the Supreme Court’s decision would dismantle the intentional protections for Black voters. But there’s hope! We will ask God how to stress over this situation and trust that God will empower believers of all races to stand up to these unjust policies all in the name of winning.

Tennessee Republicans literally walked into the Statehouse wearing Trump flags as capes — and then had the audacity to cheer when they passed a 9-0 map designed to shatter Memphis's majority-Black congressional district into three pieces. Not subtle. Not even trying to be.

Let's be crystal clear about what just happened: Governor Bill Lee called a special session — under direct pressure from Trump — to do one thing: strip the only Democratic-held congressional seat in Tennessee, which happens to represent the majority-Black city of Memphis. They split Memphis into THREE separate districts, most of which stretch all the way to the Nashville area, drowning out Black voters in a sea of rural Republican precincts.

And they're not alone. Alabama is fighting to gut a court-mandated Black-majority district. Louisiana is scrambling to undo its second majority-Black seat. South Carolina just entered the redistricting battle. ALL Southern states. ALL at once. ALL targeting majority-Black districts.

Coincidence? The Supreme Court literally just gutted the Voting Rights Act — and the very first thing that happened is the entire South sprinted to eliminate Black representation in Congress. Samuel Alito told us "we've moved past racism." The Republicans in Tennessee just proved him catastrophically wrong.

Civil rights advocates are calling this exactly what it is: Jim Crow 2.0. Rev. Earle Fisher in Memphis said it plainly — "It's about whether the voices of Black people in this state will be heard or hidden."

Here's the thing they can't hide: If Republicans were actually winning on their ideas, they wouldn't need to do this. You don't rig a game you're already winning. You cheat because you're scared. And they are scared — of Black voters, of Memphis, of a multiracial democracy that keeps rejecting their agenda.

They wore the Trump flag like a costume. They cheered the erasure of Black representation like it was a touchdown. And they called it democracy.

It is not.

🙏 Celebrating a powerful moment as dozens of incarcerated men stepped into the water inside a Maryland jail. Many called it a second chance and a step toward real change. More than 50 individuals were baptized at the Prince George's County Department of Corrections on February 15, 2026. It marked the first time a baptism had been held at the facility. Pools were set up inside the gym as participants came forward one by one. Aaron Jefferson stood among them while awaiting sentencing. He said the moment felt like a "second chance." A corrections official who also serves as a pastor told the group, "We will now baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. "

The event was organized by Moving Forward Ministries, which has worked inside the jail for two years. Bishop Anthony G. Maclin said the goal is to give people an opportunity to change. He called the day a paradigm shift and spoke about the need for impact. He said, "If we do not impact the lives of people, then all we are doing is just stockpiling people." Talecka Brown also took part while awaiting sentencing. She said the experience gave her hope and a chance to "really right my wrongs." She added, "I do believe that God can move mountains." Jail leaders said they plan to continue these services as part of a focus on accountability and personal growth.
