Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, mentors, and father figures who show up with love, wisdom, strength, and support.

Today, we celebrate the impact you make in the lives of your families and our community. Thank you for the encouragement, sacrifices, lessons, laughs, and prayers that help shape the next generation.

We also recognize that Father’s Day can be difficult for those who are missing their fathers or grieving the loss of a father figure. We hold space for you today and honor the memories, love, and legacy that continue to live on.

We see you. We appreciate you. We celebrate you.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported Team Discover at the Black & Missing Foundation’s Hope Without Boundaries 5K this weekend!

Because of your generosity and commitment to making a difference, Discover Community Church was honored to accept BAMFI’s Community Impact Award and was recognized as one of the event’s top fundraising teams, raising an incredible $875 to support the mission of bringing awareness to missing persons of color and providing resources to impacted families.

We were also blessed to have our own Aisha Berkeley open the event in prayer, setting the tone for a powerful morning of hope, remembrance, and community.

The celebration began even before race day, as our Director of Outreach, Cornelius Berkeley, had the honor of attending a special dinner recognizing this year’s award recipients.

Thank you to every donor, walker, runner, volunteer, and supporter who represented Discover so well. Together, we continue to live out our values of Service, Love, Unity, and Empowerment while making a meaningful impact in our communities.

We are grateful for each of you.

Yesterday, Discover Community Church and our very own Kris Jones (King Kris) were honored at the Carmody Hills Elementary Hometown Hero Appreciation Banquet for their service, impact, and commitment to uplifting the community.

The awards were presented by Community Schools Coordinator Mrs. Michelle Washington to individuals and organizations making a meaningful difference in the lives of Carmody Hills families.

Last year, DCC partnered with Kris Jones, a standout Boston College athlete, and other community organizations for a Thanksgiving outreach at Carmody Hills, providing 100 free full Thanksgiving meals to local families. Partnerships like these help us extend our impact and serve our community in greater ways.

Congratulations to Kris and the entire DCC family on this incredible honor!
