This past Sunday we had a blessing of our calendars in preparation for the new year. It was a time to ask God’s blessing - presence, favor, protection, and guidance - on all that will happen in our lives and church in the new year. It is also a time to dedicate our lives to the Lord so that we are aligned with the purposes of God. We reflected on the words of John the Baptist, “Jesus must become greater, I must become less.” John had a clear sense of identity where he realized he had an important role to play, but he was not Him. So with us this new year.
This is a good time to stop and reflect on our lives.
What are you grateful for during 2025?
How has God spoken to you, or blessed, or brought conviction in the previous year? How is that reshaping you?
In a listening attitude, what might God be saying for 2026? How is the Spirit revealing a focus or a direction? (This is not a one time exercise of asking for direction)
