Emanuel Lutheran Church

Emanuel Lutheran Church Services are held Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Sunday School and Bible Class are at 9 a.m. Our Worship is “Lutheran!” Lutheran Worship centers in Christ.

Our church follows an annual cycle of readings and responses which unfold God’s eternal plan of salvation in the life, teaching, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We Believe, Teach, and Confess that the true God is the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as revealed in Scripture and confessed in the Creeds of the Church. Jesus Christ, true God and man, reconciled all people to God thr

ough His substitutionary life, death on the cross, and resurrection. The Bible is God’s Holy Word, given by inspiration to reveal to man his sin (Law) and God’s plan of salvation in Jesus Christ (Gospel). God has given the Church two sacraments: Holy Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Through these, the Holy Spirit grants forgiveness of sins and strengthening of faith. Man is saved by God’s grace alone, for Christ’s sake, through faith in the Gospel. We use the Lutheran Service Book for our Orders of Worship

Where does a 21st century circuit rider go?

He goes where the church is thin and the road is long.

He goes to the old factory town whose congregation buried its last resident pastor a generation ago, and has made do with supply preachers and vacancy ever since.

He goes to the county seat where a handful of Lutherans drive an hour or two each way to find a faithful altar, and to the holler past the county seat where nobody drives at all.

He goes to the trailer on the ridge, to the nursing home off the state route, to the kitchen table of the shut-in who has not had the Sacrament brought to her in months
(Yeah, this happens).

On Sunday he may preach in one town in the morning and another in the afternoon, with miles of two-lane road in between.
On weekdays he catechizes, visits, baptizes, and brings Christ's body and blood to people the wider church has long since stopped counting.

Pray with us for a called pastor to ride this circuit of mountains.
Consider adding A.L.L. to your congregation's stewardship budget, and thank you to those who already have.

Congratulations and God’s blessings to all these students!

Congratulations to the seventeen students (thirteen of whom are pictured here) who received awards at yesterday's annual academic awards convocation. The class of 2026 also presented their class gift, The Great Works of God, Part Eight: The Mysteries of Christ in the Book of Numbers by Valerius Herberger, translated by Matthew Carver. Copies of this translation will be donated to the CTSFW library and to the library at Concordia Seminary.
