Subject: URGENT: First United Methodist Church Services Canceled – January 25, 2026.

Dear Church Family,

Due to the icy road conditions and inclement weather, we have made the decision to cancel all services and activities scheduled for Sunday, January 25th.

The safety of our members and staff is our top priority. We encourage everyone to stay home, stay warm, and avoid travel until conditions improve.

We are very excited about Christmas Eve around here! We hope you are too, and if you are looking for a place to worship, you are invited to First United Methodist Church Lancaster, 201 S. Dallas Ave, Wednesday at 6 pm.

We will worship together with Genesis Life Fellowship Church in our sanctuary. It's going to be a wonderful time of worship reflecting the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. Carols, candles, communion.

Friends, on Sunday Dec 14, we said that Joy is not an emotion, but is the experience of God's nature within us, is rooted in Christ, and is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. This picture says it well.

Hi everybody. Please note the following:

I have just spoken to Jenna Reinke who manages our local food bank. They need help in the following ways, and they need it NOW, due to the suspension of the SNAP program with the government shutdown.

1. Volunteers - Need lots of bodies. They had to furlough some of their staff who were paid through SNAP. These were staff who were paid $7/hr and got the job through AARP.

2. GROCERIES: You can bring these items directly to the shelter, located at 123 Alexander Ave, in Lancaster, OR bring them to the church.

canned meats, including tuna, chicken, etc. (Proteins come to the shelter from the USDA, also shutdown for now.)
boxed mac-n-cheese
beans
rice
holiday sides, including boxed stuffing, cranberries, cake mix

These are the moments in which Methodists shine! Let's go!
