*That the World May Know* – Room 305, Taught by Sherry Eshleman
This study is a video series that brings God’s Word to life. Weaving together the Bible's historical, cultural, religious, and geographical contexts, teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan reveals unique insights into the Scriptures' significance for modern believers. The more fully we can appreciate those times and places, the more fully we can respond to the power of the Word.
Our first study will be In the Dust of the Rabbi, which was filmed on-location at Bethsaida, the Temple of Caesar Augustus, Priene (Turkey), and the Sea of Galilee. In Jesus’ day, disciples followed their Rabbi so closely that they would be covered with the dust kicked up by the Rabbi’s feet. We will discover how we can get dusty and be closer to Jesus.
This video series continues with Walk as Jesus Walked, which will challenge us to let our lives reflect Jesus’ love, truth, and grace every single day. Lessons were filmed on-location at Mount Carmel, Aphrodisius, Galatia, Lystra, and Cappadocia (Turkey). We will explore how early disciples—especially Paul—translated Jesus’ call to passionate discipleship into language and imagery the Roman and Gentile world could understand. Following Jesus means more than personal devotion; it requires active, cross-bearing witness in a broken world.

*Judges* – Room 303, Taught by Chris Shelly
“In those days Israel had no king, and everyone did what was right in their own eyes.”
The book of Judges explores humanity's tendency to trust themselves over God and do what is right in their own eyes. This habit highlights humanity's need for God's grace and a future king who will rescue people from their self-centeredness. In the Book of Judges, God rescues his people from the dismal fates they, by their own faithlessness and misconduct, have brought upon themselves. This historical narrative teaches its readers in every age, that the darker the human heart, the more brilliant the light of God’s grace.

*Foundations* – Room 410, Taught by Andy Gehring, Jonn Kuzma, Derrick Kreider, Jeff Kingsley
This course introduces the student to the fundamental beliefs of Lampeter Church of the Brethren, Brethren history in the context of the reformation and the radical reformation periods, and our statement of faith. The course includes an overview of the Bible, theology, church history, and our mission and vision as the body of Christ.

Evening of Prayer Journaling – Olivia Swope would like you to join her for an evening set aside to learn about prayer journaling, decorating your own journal, and completing your first entry into your journal. The evening will be held Thursday, May 14, 6:30 PM, and is for all ages!
From Olivia:
“What is prayer journaling? In its most basic sense, prayer journaling is a record of your time spent with God. You can put practically anything in there. Verses that speak to you and why, musings on scripture, sermon notes, what you are praying for and prayers that have been answered (some people literally write down their prayers as if their prayer was a letter to God), art, poetry and song lyrics, etc.
What is the purpose of prayer journaling? Prayer journaling can have different purposes for different people. For some, it is meant to combat “spiritual amnesia”. For others, it is to help them maintain focus during their “God time” where their mind may get distracted otherwise. Or it simply may be a tool to help cultivate gratitude, a consistent prayer life, and deepen their faith. Many find it neat to read back through a full prayer journal and see the work that God has done in their life that they otherwise might have missed or forgotten.
A blank journal will be provided for each person in attendance. Supplies for decorating the cover of your journal will also be provided. Please feel free to bring any supplies you would like to use in decorating your journal. Please sign up in the Welcome Center so we can be sure to have enough supplies. Light refreshments will be provided. We hope you and your family will join us in this fun, inspiring evening! Please contact the Church Office with any questions you may have.
