A close friend of mine from Xaaga, near Mitla, Oaxaca, Mexico contacted me last week seeking help for a need. He knows a family that has a 14 year-old boy with cerebral palsy. He needs a wheelchair. I found him a very nice one that a Countryside family is willing to donate, but it has small wheels and is for indoor use, whereas the family lives in a shack with a dirt floor that wouldn't work out well with the small wheels. They need an all-terrain type wheelchair that they can fold up to put in the back of a Nissan Sentra-sized taxi so they can take him to therapy each week. (They don't have a car.)

The Connection is stepping in to buy this wheelchair, which the family says is the one they need. It costs $235 U.S., delivered to Mitla. A 7 year-old girl in Lancaster is making and selling artwork to help pay for the chair, and I hope others will get involved also. If we raise extra money, we can pour the family a cement floor for @$400.

We have Connection Crosses ready! Please message us here if you would like some for yourself, your church or small group!!

If you aren't familiar with these, they are like Angel Tree angels, where you can give Christmas gifts to children in the neighborhoods where The Connection ministers.

We have 55 children this year.

We have 2 or 3 Crosses left, so let me know if you want any.

Sign Ups for the Connecting Tree are today at the Connection! 4-5pm

Sign-Ups for the Connecting Tree will be this Monday November 15th 4-5 @ The Connection, Monday November 22nd 4-5 @ The Connection and at Community Thanksgiving. This is our version of the angel tree. Requirements for sign ups are:
Must be 18 or younger
Must live in Countryside or Sara Drive Mobile Home Park or be an active participant of a ministry of The Connection.
Must pick up your gifts on December 18th at the scheduled time from your donor, we cannot hold them. Parents can represent the children that morning.
