Missionary Prayer Band

Missionary Prayer Band is an organization out of Lancaster Baptist Church and West Coast Baptist College. It is centered around praying for missionaries!

Mission Statement: To glorify God, to promote the gospel, to present the need in the world, and to seek God’s power for the harvest. Purpose: The primary purpose of Missionary Prayer Band is prayer. Most meetings will include several different aspects, such as music, missions information, messages etc. However, the purpose of everything is to foster a proper attitude of prayer. Ephesians 6:12 says

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The devil seeks to hinder the work of God. That’s why in verse 18 it says “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” Therefore, in all that we do, our intent is primarily to seek God’s face:

1. For Mission fields: There are many countries and people groups around the world that have no gospel influence. Many languages that are spoken do not have a completed Bible or any at all. Many people walk in darkness without any spiritual light. The one prayer request that Christ gave to his disciples was for laborers in the harvest fields (Matthew 9:38). “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.”

2. For Missionaries: Many Bible believing Christians have already answered the call to labor in the harvest fields. Our desire is to labor on their behalf in prayer. Paul asks the Thessalonian church in II Thessalonians 3:1-2 “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.” He again asks the Ephesian church in Ephesians 6:19, after he asks them to pray, he says, “and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel.”

3. For Ourselves: The Lord does truly desire to use men in the harvest fields, and show himself strong in miraculous ways. He uses those whose heartbeat is for Him alone. As our theme verse says, “the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” Our desire is to sincerely seek God, and match our heartbeat to His, so that He can use us effectively. Jeremiah 29:12-13 says, “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

Please be in prayer for Spiritual Leadership Conference ASIA! There will be thousands from all over the world and several different countries represented.

Pray that God will use this conference in a mighty way to bring glory to His name across the world.
