Lancaster Cemetery The Rich History of the people of Lancaster, PA, laid to rest in our beautiful Victorian cemetery. The cemetery was designed by the Reverend Nathaniel A.

Lancaster Cemetery was the first of Lancaster's "rural cemeteries." In 1846 the vestry of the German Reformed Church acquired a ten acre property along the New Holland Turnpike north of the city, and the following year received a charter of incorporation from the state legislature which guaranteed perpetual occupancy of the dead. Date Change:
We are in need of volunteers to help with a project at the neighboring St. Mary's Cemetery on New Holland.

This work is to help The Veteran Stone Project group to map the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery on New Holland.

It is our hope to map the 8 sections, record stone inscriptions, photograph stones, and to locate the veterans buried there.
* For anyone who is less mobile there are research tasks needed as well.

This work will take place

July 2nd and July 10th
9:00 am - Noon
